What next?

So, that upgraditis is itching! My current system is Nac N272, Cyrus X300 mono and Vienna Acoustic Baby Grand SE's.
I'm toying with a pair of Martin Logan Impressions (loved the sound of the Montis) but they are pretty big speakers so, I wonder if I might be better doing the 'sensible' thing and adding an XPSDR first and potentially then changing the amp to a Naim 250DR?
Would love to know what you all think?
I cannot comment on the speakers, but I'd certainly look into a 250 first. The 272/250 is a very god combination indeed. The Naim/Cyrus match just seems a little odd.
I'm with HH on the 250, ideally a DR.
I run Martin Logan Electromotion ESLs - they've always been wonderful, but more so with a 250DR.
Go for the 250 and you will get the real Naim sound. You current combination looks odd.
Urm can't imagine a Naim pre and Cyrus monos???
I'd start with a NAP 250 - do your great pre-amp justice and make it sing. XPS can come later on.
Thanks all - that makes lots of sense.
Your 272 really deserves a 250dr an excellent combination.
Hi all, I thought I should update you. I tried the 250DR today - courtesy of my friendly dealer - with the NacN272 (as a potential replacement for my Cyrus Mono x300's, playing into Vienna Acoustic Baby Grand SE's) and I'm rather terrified on this forum to admit it - but I preferred the Monox300's. For me they had more resolution, timing and umph! But I suspect that won't be a commonly held opinion on here.
So, I suspect, I might try an XPSDR next!......any views please?
suggest you try this combination as well.

As stated above - try N272 with XPSDR and 250 DR and Power Lines on both. If possible, plug them directly into a wall outlet.
Was the demo amp well broken in? My 250DR continually improved over the course of months, quite a lot day by day at first and then more subtly after the first few weeks. Also just moving the amp will impact the SQ and it may take 24 to 48 hours to come back completely "on song." So I tend to think you should ask the dealer for a 3-4 day (at least a weekend) loan of the amp to get a more genuine idea of what it truly sounds like.
Also while I agree totally with the thrust of the peckish flatfish's comment I don't think the 272/250 is a "god" combination... I'd stop a little short of that and just go with "outstanding" or "excellent"...
.
It's that bloomin' annoying iPad autocorrect again.... Every time I praise the 272/250 I get moaned at by someone so am attempting to be restrained these days, though describing it as a god combination may not sound like it.
300 it then!
Thanks all. Perhaps I needed to give it longer - but it does perhaps show me how much I like the Cyrus X300's - despite me wanting to "match" the boxes. I'm not sure that I'm up for a 272 and XPS - so do you think the XPS would be a worthy enough upgrade to try on its own?

Welll... the old dogma still holds true in a way 'source first'.
I just swapped a new XPS DR in for a Voldemort XPS on my 272 a few weeks ago and the improvement has been both quite noticeable and very welcome. Going from bare 272 to XPS-fed is going to be a major upgrade in SQ and thus very worthy.
Stick with the Cyrus after all the whole point is the enjoyment
