Muso as sound bar

Posted by: HansW on 24 October 2016

I am considering buying a Naim Muso to beef up the sound from my TV. Can this be done and is it a good idea? There is no HDMI input on the Muso. How is it then connected?

Is ir possible to use two Muso QBs in stereo mode as an alternative?

Any experience or help would be appreciated.

In addition to the TV itself I use an Apple TV, an Oppo 105 blue-ray player and a no-name hard disc recorder.

Best regards

Hans

Both the Muso's have a digital optical in, so that's the way to connect it to your tv.

no idea about whether you can create a stereo pair with the Qb.

the Muso would be a helluva soundbar

You can use a muso as a sound bar but read Phil Harris's posting in the stickies at the top of the audio streaming room.

i think if you want to use two Qbs as left  and right channels then you are going to have to do this with analogue stereo connections, which your TV may not output.

Personally I would stay with the mu-so idea and forget stereo QBs.

We use a MuSo with our TV.   Sounds great after the initial setup frustrations.   Be sure your TV outputs PCM sound and connect using the Toslink cable into the optical input of the MuSo.
