Naim nac 112x serviced ' plus flatcap or Nac 202 powered with 150x serviced

Just wondering if anyone has compared serviced 112x with flatcap 2 (2x) only powering the pre amp or change to a Nac 202 run by the 150x ?? Is that possible  ?? ...How good is the 202 standalone...I have aquired a lp12 and will be getting a stageline at some point so I can use it..but use a computer with a Naim DAC most of the time which I love..I have the upgrade bug and wonder if the 202 is that much better with analogue as people seem to think on the forum..

My comment is that you've been all around the houses with this, you've pretty much exhausted it, Garry!   ;-)

A few years ago I had a Nait 5 and FC2, roughly similar to your set, and same era. The NAC202 that I demmed at the time (using the Nait 5 as a NAP) was well ahead of anything the Nait 5 could offer as an integrated. This is why I have a NAC202 now. Very nice with my record player and phonostage btw (please see my profile).

So my view is that it's not the power supplies you've got that counts, it's the preamps you put them on. ie. NAC202 and NAP150x is the way forward. Hope that helps.

Trouble is that fairly soon, someone is going to tell you there is no way they would power a 202 from a 150x, and anyway the 202 is 'a croc of sh1te', what you really want is a NAC282 and HC-DR. Oh, and btw, CD is so over so get a N272 instead, power it with you NAP150x for now and then get yourself a NAP250 later.

So how are you going to weigh these competing voices, of which mine is just one? And what if there were ten people in favour of, say N272 and NAP 250 for every one who held my view, what then? How would you decided what's right for you? Somehow you have to get beyond the analysis/ paralysis and just be able to enjoy your music.

You are absolutely right Christopher. But it is so much fun for most. I wouldn't take a bit away from them. I can even see myself entertaining the thread sometime. :taré1:

My view is that the 112 partnered with the 150 is a cracking system (to my ears at least with the right speakers).. so I'd be inclined to go with that unless you heard the 202 in your setup and you definitely preferred it..
