break-in period

hi all - just a quick question and your thoughts are all appreciated. how long does it take for a cdx2 (mk 1) to be fully run in ie sonically at full chat ? it hasn't run for over a year and while I may be imagining things in hope I feel like the sound keeps slowly changing almost daily after a few days use. currently being used in conjunction with a non-DR xps2 and I play slightly older rock (in case it matters). also slightly off-topic, does anybody here use transparent audio cables n if so, any idea how long they take to achieve full bloom as it were. thanks.

My experience is that previously used electronics normally take a couple of hours to get back on song.

Memory isn't as reliable as we think it is. Musical memory still less so. When I ran a CDX2 I remember it taking 1-2 days to come back on song from a cold start (as in for example being switched off for a holiday or a week end). Problem is, what I remember remembering isn't the memory of what it actually sounded like. If that makes any sense? I'd give it a week, although I would hope this is overkill.

From unreliable memory, my CDX2 could swing about a bit in my system, having good and comparatively less good days. It never actually sounded bad though. So much has happened since then that it's impossible to say for sure that it was the CDX2. But I thought it was at the time.

Yes like the others should not take that much as compared to new. 1-3 days would be my bet.
