Tidal stopped working on Unitiqute 2

Posted by: W.J. Drijfhout on 01 November 2016

For a long time I've been a happy user of Tidal on the Unitiqute 2. However, a few weeks ago it suddenly stopped working. Any songs I am trying to play result in a message: 'Can't play. Track skipped'. Anyone any idea what could cause this and how to repair?

I am running app version 4.9 and streamer version 4.4.00, which seem the latest. There is info around new firmware for the Muso, but not the Unitiqute?

Tidal is running well in his own Mac/iphone apps.

I've had a similar experience previously.  One evening Tidal just stopped working.  It was fine the next day and has been since.  Probably an issue at the Tidal end of things.

I had this happen occasionally with my Unitiqute. I remember once or twice I could only fix it by removing and reinstalling the app on my phone/tablet. I would try that first including the re-input of the tidal credentials in the Naim app.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just deleted both the NAIM and Tidal app from my phone, restarted phone and re-installed the apps, but problem remains.

One more thing to try before contacting Naim support. Change your tidal password (from the website).

Then the Naim app should prompt you to re-input your new tidal password, do this and see if this reset solves the issue.

One more thing I just thought of. How long have you had tidal working through the UQ? Have you continued with the tidal HiFi subscription after the 3 month trial period?

Has your TIDAL account changed status recently?

If you have moved down from a HiFi account to premium and you still have the "quality" setting on the app / streamer as "HiFi" then you will get exactly this...

Thank you all for your suggestions. Problem is solved. The password-trick was the solution. Apparently it was stuck somewhere, as the NAIM app didn't even let me logout without closing the app first completely. After restart of the app it was searching for the new password, which then eventually gave me all Tidal-music back on my Unitiqute.

Thanks again, Willem Jan.
