Naim Customer Service - SL Speaker Cables

Posted by: Pcd on 02 November 2016

Had my new SL cables a couple of weeks ago and after seeing the topic on the problem with the Banana plugs I checked mine and found they were loose.

I contacted my dealer last Thursday as advised by Richard Dane to discuss this matter they in turn contacted Naim who said they would send a replacement set.

These arrived at the dealer yesterday morning and they would have installed them in the afternoon but unfortunately I had a prior appointment so they will install them tomorrow afternoon.

I cannot speak to highly of this quality of customer care looks like a wise choice when I bought my first Naim system in 1983 and have only used Naim since, a very satisfied customer indeed.

Talking of another hot topic will they turn up in a new box ????

Wenger, my replacements come a very nice box as well. I found the SL
speaker cables to be a very good upgrade from Nac A5 but changing the Hi
Line interconnect to a SL made them really sing they seem to work so well
together.

Did you get to keep the old ones?

Lately there seems to be quite a fixation with boxes on this forum.

It started many years ago with C/B boxes then Olive and Black boxes through to the latest cardboard boxes strange that the Metal Containers that the S/L interconnect cables are delivered in never get a mention ??

On first listen the SL's have not impressed, but I've only tried them once...they probably need a good few days to run in.....I've just taken a new Nap300dr on demo, so I wanted to try that with my TQ ultra blacks in place, so SL's will have to wait for the time being... happy days

Wenger, the S/L cables will need a few days to settle in even if they are a
demo set my system after the replacements were installed yesterday
afternoon sounded like a bag of nails bass all over the place will take a
few days to settle.

The SL's are a new set, so no doubt possibly even longer....will also be demoing the TQ black diamonds, so looking forward to the next few weeks...

The SL interconnects made a substantial improvement over the Hi-line from the word go. The speaker cables are a more subtle 'improvement' - you gain some air and refinement but lose a little slam.

Picking my soeaker and 5-pin interconnects up from my dealer later today - can't wait
