Posted by: greekspec2 on 05 November 2016
so I received my Vertere cable and again I'm delighted how well there stuff sounds....surpasses my AQ Diamond cable as very organic with more detail and timing, no wonder Naim used them for there SL cables...
Greekpec2 you are going to spend us lot of money with this findings

if your in the UK see if they will discount it a little more.....
Not sure commercial links are supposed to be here, but at that price for compliant 8 twisted pair Ethernet cable some body is having a laugh... it doesn't even say which standards it is certified to or what Category or construction code it is which compliant Ethernet cables do... and I bet most plug into a cheap consumer switch with a transport clock that is warbling all over the place... Not even military grade avionics Ethernet cable ANSI/NEMA WC27500 REV A comes anywhere near that
Let's have less of that sensible talk here Simon. This is a Hi-Fi forum ...
Yeah fair cop...
My max is vodka, it is way too expensive even without VAT for a 1m ethernet cable
We spent more money on cables per electronic than anything for sure, planes, cars, missile silos, space crafts, satellites etc

Question is do we need a secure padded subdued lighting room for the affected forum'ites to discuss these cables ??
Always up for nonsensical discussion about expensive ethernet cables.

In the 'virtual' sense, isn't that what this forum IS.

I guess the laughs on my wallet but not not my ears, and the biggest joke is people buy expensive hifi Naim gear and then bitch about cable pricing when there an ass in the first place for buying there gear...go buy some $500 floorstandings and a Receiver for$250 and call it a day!
Greekspec2 - sorry I didn't mean to sound dismissive - and reading my post it does come across that way perhaps. If it works for you and your are happy/content with it then that is what it is all about
We try to save what we can from limited resouces
a vetere cable is almost a the price of melco 1a right?
So which one will have a greater impact?
Also i am ready to pay if there is something realın the table or just a snake oil with good marketing.
so we trust you greekspec2 for spending our hard earned "upgrade funds", it always goos to hear your opinons, so many thanks
you convienced me with vodka but vetere is hard to digest at the moment

no worries....I figure since the release with the SL leads I take one for the team sort of say and get the Vertere since no one else on here has it and I figured it would have the best synergy with my gear and SL leads and as for me my main source is streaming N272
took a few cell phone pics ....

Could you mix AQ & Vertere? AQ from NAS and HDX to switch and Vertere from Switch to NDS? With good results ?

I got from modem to wall outlet in one room AQ Diamond and in my living room wall outlet Vertere to N272
Thanks for reply! Bet your system sounds great now! I know running All AQ Vodka Ethernet cables has upped the sound quality of my system. NDS never sounded better.
Someone is having a laugh. 1350 of them.

Heckuva great looking Ethernet cable !

That looks a very well made Ethernet cable. I'm still interested in what is involved in the design and construction of this cable that makes this cable sound different (better ?) on a 272 / NDS etc compared to an off the shelf Cable i could pick up for a few pounds ?
Ooooh pretty plugs and box.

Well it is shielded much much better and the connector is shielded and is much more robust. I know the AQ Vodka Ethernet cables are, and it is very noticable improvement. The noise floor is darker so micro detail is more apparent.
What is shielded much much better? Looking at the vendors website it looks quite a conventional shielded construction.
The only thing I noted that was unusual is the vendor's apparent claim it is simultaneously Cat5/6/7 which is rather curious....
........ simultaneously Cat5/6/7 ........ & with Telegartner RJ45 plugs which are Cat-6A, even more curious.

maybe there referencing backwards compatibility? what AQ say's
