NAIM Green light on NAP200

Posted by: Mark Carwardine on 07 November 2016

The Naim Green light on my NAP200 has gone off today. I have read the manual and was not above 70c. I know you can turn the display on the NAC's on or off but I don't think you have this option on the NAP200 so I don't think I have done this accidentally. Any ideas?

The logo cannot be switched off. unless the amp itself is switched off. Does the amp still work?  If so, it sounds like the logo has failed - rare, but possible, and easily remedied.

Sounds like it's given up. The Naim logo is always lit, Display off doesn't apply to the Naps

Yes, the amp works fine. Thanks for confirming that the light can't be turned off on the NAPS.

How can it be remedied?

Thanks.

Take it to your dealer, who will send it back to Naim.

i have a brand new 272/300dr/555ps that all have a shinny green logo but i have a faded green on my cd2x after 8 years of spinning disks, it shows its age when they are on the same rack? is there a way to light it up?

Back to the mother ship for a replacement. Maybe when it's sent back for a service?

Emre, I think the logo on your CDX2 may just be the older (2nd) type - also, there's a slight difference in brightness across different  models and even a small variance from logo to logo.  You may be able to update your CDX2 logo to a new one (possibly just a dealer fit item) but best check with your dealer to be sure.

The first of the half-moon logos were the brightest.  Too bright for many in fact, so the brightness was reduced sometime around 2002/3 if my memory still serves.

Richard I believe boxes that have a remote control facility  use a different unit that incorporates the necessary circuit.

Graham, yes, the IR receiver eye is in the logo.
