Sad News Regarding The Blutak Wonder
Posted by: tonym on 16 November 2016
This is a terrible year! what with David Bowie, Leonard Cohen etc., tragic news has just reached me concerning the almost certain demise of the Blutak Wonder. The fracture of a vital component has rendered it silent and lack of parts make its repair problematic. With commiserations and deepest sympathy to Jon Honeyball of this parish, who has been its noble carer for many years. For those who have had the pleasure of hearing it, I will leave you to mourn and grieve in your own ways.
Erm ... whats the Blutak Wonder??

That's what I was about to ask !
Is it a tone arm actuator ?
Ah shame - supposed to be a thing of sonic (if not aesthetic) beauty. Digital done properly wasn't it ?
You have to explain!

It's the best CD player I have ever heard. Saying that I haven't heard all the CDPs ever made.
You see, forum newbies. They know nuffink. RIPBTW.
Reading the thread title I was confused thinking that this wonder of hi-fi VFM was being discontinued. Even if it had, a single pack should last most audiophiles a lifetime.
Shouldn't this be a sticky?

Oh my goodness, this is a sad day for the CD playing fraternity. The Blutack wonder was the inspirational proof of concept behind several of the world's best CD players. Its al fresco style of playing CDs was also a marvel to behold for those more used to heavy cases & shielding of the silver disc.
Our sincere condolences to those of the Honeyball parish at this time of painful loss. The parish will now have to make do with lesser descendants of the CDS bloodline, until such times as the streaming path of righteousness can be considered tolerable for the future.
Dear Wonder, we salute you. May you rest in peace.
Regards, FT
For the deceased Blutak wonder, should it not be "Rest in Pieces"?
the Urn ?

Ah,you may have joined in 2002 but when did you absent yourself from reality and truly start to believe in The Way?
A state of newbyhood reveals itself among those who have not yet trodden the path of evolving the Mana vs balls of steel theories or pondering the demise of absent Gothic friends. Innit.
Keep the faith young Padawan.

The Blutak Wonder had no time for fancy buttons!
It now seems I might have exaggerated the demise of the BlueTack Wonder! A new mechanism is to be fitted and other stuff, so it shall arise like phoenix from its dusty grave. Will it sound the same though? Could it possibly be even better? The king is dead, long live the king!

Is that some form of advanced electrostatic discharge management ?
