Mobile view on a desktop...

Posted by: ChrisSU on 16 November 2016

Does anyone else find that when viewing the forum on a computer (in my case MacBook Pro/Safari) it usually displays in the mobile format, same as on iPhone? It's very clunky, with oversized text, reduced functionality, and just a bit of a PITA. Occasionally it reverts to the normal 'desktop' style, but not for long. Maybe I've missed a hidden setting somewhere that would explain to HoopLa that I am not using a mobile phone?

It displays OK on my MacBook Air. Same look'n'feel as on my work laptop (Windowze horror).

It even reformats itself depending on which iPad I use - regular iPad has a limited view, iPad Pro has  a regular desktop-style view.

I guess that means yours is working normally, then.

Thanks for the suggestion. Having wasted an hour chasing blind alleys based on various suggestions to do with user agents in the develop menu, emptying caches, deleting cookies, etc etc, I'm no nearer to sorting it. I'm beginning to suspect this is locked in by HoopLa. Maybe they'll pick up on this thread if I post a good old rant with HoopLa and a variety of expletives in it........no?.........thought not!
