Active speakers

I'm looking for suggestions for active loudspeakers to go on the end of a 172XS using Tidal as the primary source.  I accept that there will be some compromises in SQ compared to the 250.2 - Kudos C10s but I'm just mulling over ideas at the moment.

I own Dynaudio xd 600's,they are phenominal running directly off my N 272,but i have moved them to home theater. The 600's are quite expensive though,i also had an in home demo of the xd 200's for a week, when i still had my unitiqute 2,ran a digital line directly into the 200's...these are also very good, with not as much bass slam, but still plenty for the average sized room.I would say the xd 200's sound equivalent to the passive line (focus 160) which i had at the time, running off the Supernait 2.

Hi JOHNELL, there was a very positive (recent) review of the Naim 272 & ATC active SCM40's over on H-fi+. That could be a good starting point?  ... http://atcloudspeakers.co.uk/w...-Fi-_SCM40A_Naim.pdf

As an aside, I do wonder (hope) the powers that be at Naim & Focal Towers are investigating the possibility of the logical partnership of active Naim powered Focal speakers, to marry with the current / future range of Naim Pre-Streamers

Thanks for that, the 200's sounded ideal until I saw the price and for that reason the ATCs are out of the equation too I'm afraid.

I should have mentioned that my budget is up to £1.5k but if I can get away with <£1k without too many compromises I'd be happy.  They will also be used in my very narrow room so all the space constraints are still there.

In that case, the Dynaudio xeo 2's are getting rave reviews, but i have not heard these.

The Xeo 2s and 4s get decent reviews so they are a definite consideration thanks.
