Hi,
I need some advice. I recently made the mistake of selling my entire setup because to save some space as my system was setup in my bedroom. I though I could setup a hi end headphone rig to replace the speakers/amps. Long story short I couldn't live without the hifi. Headphones are just not for me at all.
I owned a 82/Supercap/ NAP300 to Harbeth SLH PLUS.
Now, I can stretch that high this time. But i was wondering if I can get most of the x factor of that setup in the Supernait 2.
I should mention that my new speaker will be the Harbeth Monitor 30.1 as they are smaller and I believe slightly easier to drive.
Or would i still be better of with an olive 82/SUPERCAP/250 setup? Please help.

Khan - sorry to say - you need to get your Olive set back.
I have a 72/HiCap/250 recently serviced - so a bit similar to yours. I also have a SuperNait2....
SuperNait2 is good, especialy with a HiCap2. Bu the Olive set has this raw, visceral power that you may miss. Especialy with Harbeth monitors.

I briefly tried the Beyerdynamic T1 which happens to be my first pair of full-sized headphones two years ago and sold it after several months of use. Similarly I could not live with headphones. I do not like the feeling of the device on my head and somehow find the sound to be unnatural when compared to a proper loudspeaker based system. It's speakers for me any time of the day.
Good luck in setting up the new system. You had a great system based off the Harbeth SHL5 plus. I own the SHL5 plus driven by 282/Hicap DR/250DR and am getting great results with the system. I can just imagine the Supercap and 300 to sound even better, with the SHL5 plus. The M30.1 is a very nice speaker too albeit slightly different in presentation when compared to the SHL5 plus. The C7ES3 sounds closer to the SHL5 plus than the M30.1.
