link rega ear with pre amplifier nac 282
Posted by: pino on 05 December 2016
Hello everyone, I wanted a little help.
how to connect the amplifier to gi headphone rega ear to nac 282?
thank you all
You need an interconnect that has a 5 pin DIN at one end and two RCA phono plugs at the other. The DIN goes into the 'tape' socket on your NAC282, the RCAs to the Ear.
Chris
The DIN will have to be configured as if it is taking a signal from the NAC to a tape recorder, ie. line out.
C.
thanks Chris
I did not understand how to configure the din socket on the 282
you can help me?
thanks again
The Tape DIN socket has L&R inputs and L&R outputs (unlike most of the other DIN sockets on your 282 which are either input only or output only).
What Chris is saying is you need to make sure the DIN to RCA cable is wired correctly to use the L&R output pins on the DIN socket. Your dealer will know what is needed to get you the right cable.
Flashback is your friend
I have done this. @Christopher_M is correct. You need a lead which is intended to, say, feed a tape recorder. You do NOT want the usual CD to pre lead...!
Just checked and such leads can be bought. Posting a link would incur the wrath of Richard Dane.... So I won't.... Clue - Super Hero (Saviour Of The Universe), or Floor Cleaner....?
I'd follow b_lund's advice above. Look for Naim style cables and then look for the one from 5 pin din plug to 2 phono plugs.
1M " 5 PIN DIN-RCA" - GOTHAM gac-1 per Naim, QUAD, ecc.
This might be fine for you
thank you all
I'd be looking for a later secondhand Chord Chrysalis DIN5 - 4 RCA Phono tape lead. They don't sell for very much money secondhand, but they are rather better than the cheap new alternatives. As has been recommended by Naim, no less...
Agree with Richard. I 'found' a Chord Cobra DIN4 to 2 Phono lead, which I converted to DIN5 (180 degree) - using an as used by Naim PREH Locking DIN5, which I had already.
Soldering DIN Plugs is no fun - be warned, if you have never tried this. But if you are careful, you will succeed.....
to my pre Naim NAC 282 wanted to say that I have the cable 5 din 2 rca
you can help me
thank you all
Pino,
a DIN5 - 2 RCA phono interconnect will work, but only if the DIN5 has been wired for the REC OUT pins rather than SOURCE IN/OUT. 99.9% will be wired for the latter. If yours is like this it will need to have the DIN connector re-wired. Don't forget to label it - that will avoid lots of head scratching future when you try to use it on a source.. A fairly simple task for most dealers to do.
I ask how to connect the rega ear to 282 I can not
There are five pins in the sockets. You need the wires inside your plug to be connected to the pins for Ch1 and Ch2 OUT. If you look inside your cable, you will see that the wires are connected for the pins to IN. It is not wired correctly.

I can see 6 or more good answers to this question, above. Think I need a brick wall.....
the din 5 socket goes into tape? excuse my ignorance
and in rega RCA in?
Tape, AV or aux1. Look at the picture.
Pino, I thought you were Italian?

Yes - BUT you need the correct DIN wiring - as has been explained. Or you will get nothing.
The standard DIN5 to Phono lead wont work.
yes i am italian![]()

What he means is that there is a small UK company called Flashback Sales. They understand Naim equipment, and if you explain to them what devices you want to connect, they will be able to supply the correct cable for a reasonable price.
Yep - Flashback have made me up some obscure naim cables when needed - always well made and promptly delivered.
