is the meter something to do with the music or is it linked to brain activity ?

If anyone is stupid enough to buy them I don't expect there's going to me much brain activity in the first place.

That's why it needs those AV needles... the probably move at a pre-dertermined pattern by themselves.

I've seen these before, they do actually read the amount of sawdust coming out of the ears at any given time ie the louder the music the more sawdust produced...

If it is an indication of volume it may be good to keep an eye out for your kids not blasting their ears out.

Confirmed, are the analog reading tools of the power output from an amplifier or a recording level.  These headphones will be presented at the next Ces 2017 in Las Vegas; price 279 pounds. IMHO the VU Meter serve to attract the attention of those who wear it, in public area.

However Meters Music are not the last to arrive in hi fi bussiness, and boast the design of stage amplifiers with Ashdown mark used by U2

They also sell a set of mirrors to overcome that.

Buy a pair of Grado's, then you won't ever be tempted by crappy Chinese headphones again.

It totally makes sense and has an important social function. If the meters are in the red, please leave me alone - i am angry, mid levels - i am in the zone, low level - please feel free to talk to me, no level - I am a poor wannabe, please help me...

.....and there will also be a Naim version with black cans, green lights behind the meters and a separate power supply which you have to carry around in a classy black suitcase with radio dials....

The ultimate version will come with two separate power supplies, one per channel, connected via two stiff burndies.

I think I will pass and wait for the in-ear version
