Nait 5i-2 Volume Knob

The volume on my Nait 5i-2 has a small scratch. When I ordered a replacement it arrived in a different shade than the original.The original is grey and rough and the replacement was smoother and darker, more black. I sent the distributor here in Canada a photo showing the variation in colour but he stated that the replacement was all he had. Does Naim have any original 2008 volume knobs still in stock in the UK? Is it the same as Nait XS2?. I compared photos and it looks identical.

I'm not sure how you could expect a useful answer here from forum members, and you're already involved with the Canadian distributor. My suggestion is to send your OP to support@naimaudio.com and see what they have to say. In the end, you may have to decide whether the small scratch or the color variation is the lesser of two degradations to live with. Besides, you may be the only one that ever notices a difference between the two .

Mike, it's probably down to a change in supplier. I think your question can only be answered by Naim or your distributor.

Some polish might well reduce or remove the scratch. Or - simply live with it. YMMV.
