Will a flatcap power an NAC 42.5?

Hi All,

First time poster so apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum or a stupid question.

I was running a NAC 42.5 with an NAP90 power and NAHA powered by an NAPSC

I mainly use the NAC42.5 with headphones and rarely play for speakers

Unfortunately my NAP90 has been damaged during a house move and is in need of a repair.

Pretty strapped for cash at the moment so can't really afford the repair on the NAP or a new version but have seen quite a few flatcaps fairly cheaply online.

I guess my question is if I only wanted to listen to music through the NAHA would it be possible to power the NAC 42.5 from just a flatcap?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, it would be perfectly fine. The only think I'd say is that the 42.5 was designed to take power from a Hicap, and it will sound better with one. Maybe if the 90 was damaged in the move it could be fixed under your insurance?
