NDS/Asset problem.

Hi all.

I run a Mac Mini with all my music on an external drive with another drive plugged in for backing up music. I have a switch plugged into my (yuk!!) BT Hub 5. The NDS is connected via an ethernet to the switch with the Mac running latest version on Asset. Over the weekend my music playing would stop for no apparent reason. The NDS reported initialising input then would find Asset and I could then located tracks and play again. Then after no real time pattern would cut out again.

The things i tried...

Restarted router-no effect.

Reset router-no effect.

Tried different ethernet connection-no effect.

Tried playing radio via the NDS and music cut out again (this is where it gets interesting...!)

I have my trusty old Logitech Transporter still on the Fraim unconnected (can't bare to part with this wonderful bit kit!!!) This happily played the music from the same external drive as the NDS albeit using Logitech Media server and played quite happily. Hmm, i thought...NDS has a problem with Asset. I then tried Minim Server and again the music cut out.

Now at this point Dusty's ol brain should of kicked in, but it's a been a long year and I'm knackered!!

I spoke to Naim on Monday morning. I was hoping that I could "whip" the NDS in for a quick check over. Unfortunately they can't until after Christmas....shock...o no...a quiet music....Silence is definitely not golden...not in Dusty's "gaff"!!!!
