System Pics 2017

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

Very nice, but I had to google humble. Is the thing on the wall a scarecrow for mosquitos?

I never look at this thread for the systems, but for the homes. Not once has a system made me envious, not even a full 500 or a Statement. But some places have.

Swapped my Credos for newer, nicer Allaes. There was plenty of suggestions that I should stick to the Credos but in the end I couldn't resist these  - a much nicer match to the room than the darker Credos.

Hi Ulrikl - how do you integrate a sub with a statement pre-amp? (or a NAC2x2 for that matter) - i thought only the integrated amps had SUB out sockets...

My man cave.

Perhaps all you need now is a  black Stiletto plinth to match it all up...

Perhaps use speaker-level inputs? It's a lot of cabling in this case, though. The low-powered amps he's using might not be up to it .

Barratana: The Neat Motive 3 sings very good, good bass and very tunefull. Of course they are the weakest link in this system...I had to make some sacrifices (a lot if you ask me ) to maintain my marriage in place . The source can´t show it´s right potential but  it´s really good anyway.

WUNDERBAUM: There is an output on the S1 you can use. It´s also possible on a 552.

FANGFOSSFLYER: A black Stiletto plinth looks hightech and cool but I have owned a black LP 12 for 27 years and wanted something else. I Think my walnut plinth lighten it up a bit.

One of the first photo's I see on this forum-of-said-to-be-music-lovers with an instrument.

Really? There are loads of pictures with guitars, pianos and all sorts. That drum looks more like an ornament.

Unfortunately, not that much since March last year when I joined.

I would really, really love to see more photos of chaotic living rooms having more instruments and tokens of human presence - I remember your socks photo quite well. More of that.

So to love music you have to be able to play, or just randomly collect, instrument(s)?

yeah, right.

Nice. IMO the Allaes are much better than the Credos. Do they sound as good as they look?

Looks like an ibanez to me. Possibly the JS Edition??

Could be! But not the latest one, as that one has a single (not a Humbacker) at the neck.

Now that I look at the photo again, MusicMan doesn't use micro-tuners on the bridge. This is a regular whammy as used for instance on Ibanez.

Too many thin strings I start from 28 - this is where you finish I guess

It's only cheap but it sounds pretty good nonetheless.

It's the way you play it that counts
