System Pics 2017

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

I am not enclosing any close-ups since in our constantly changing world our music system seems to be the only non variant element. Under the LP 12, on a Quadraspire are sitting the same Naim electronics (Nait 3, 3.5 player, two Flatcaps purchased in December of 1999) and a Luxman tuner. The speakers are Proac Response 1.5. The room is cosy with very good acoustics and a nice view to the wooded back yard. There is a particular synergy between the speakers and the Naim player, both using fractions (0.5) with their model numbers.
Room looks great... cold outlook, but inside looks great. How many months of the year do you have snow like this? (and what does heating cost you over there in Illinois?)
Muso looking vaguely festive !
We have had the Muso for nearly two years now and I am still continually impressed by the room filling, rich sound from a one box system. It seemed expensive at the time but definitely money well spent.

Thanks. This is not a typical December weather. We can get snow here anytime from Thanksgiving to Easter but January and February are the real cold months. Everything is relative. Florestan who resides in Edmonton Canada always makes fun of my shivers. I am about to spend an hour to clear the driveway but the Chicago Bears fans are going to sit for four hours today to watch their football team play. House is small and well insulated so heating (forced air gas furnace) is not a problem.
Why is PB at your place Nick....?

Just seems to take up residence at this time year for some reason ...

Anthony Gallo speakers combine well in that modern style with neutral colors. Italian style

In the Netherlands snow is absent for almost the fourth winter on row and we have weather with no dynamic what so ever and mostly mild to very mild conditions. I really like to have you're climate conditions. Cold snowy winters and warm, sunny summers must be great!
It's all getting a bit festive here as well!
The changes this year have all pretty much taken place behind the scenes; 300 has been DR'd and serviced, after which a full SuperLumina loom was incrementally introduced, followed finally by the Cisco 2960 switch which made a surprisingly positive change.
The one visible change was to go back to the symmetrical Fraim arrangement; visually and sonically preferable to the previous layout and allows for perfect cable dressing which no doubt contributes to the sonic delight!
Cheers,
Ian
PS. Sorry, photo was taken before any Christmas decorations made an appearance!
[@mention:1566878603915160] Totally Naim-head, awesome. Where is the second speaker? Take a better shot ;-)

Looks very nice Nick, congrats.

Not too sure. But he is watching and in good shape, enjoying his Quad mono - a beautiful set, now with a new set of output tubes sounding even better.

Its Habitat Max Oak James. Lewis put me on to it from one of his posts on System Pics. Beware though - we ended up buying 5 pieces from the same range for the kitchen / family room
Thanks Nick - i thought it looked the same as the one Lewis had in his room but just wanted to check.
Looks great so i may be joining you

How about cable dressing, must be spaghetti
That depends on how boisterous the cats have been playing behind there ! Luckily the gap is too small for the grandkids to squeeze through
Serious answer... you are so right Robiwan, spaghetti is a good description. I've done my best to keep the 'major' component interconnects & power supplies properly dressed (so that's the middle rack - 552, NDS, LP12 & 500), but the other components tend to drape where they droop !
Roger
PS - I don't think I'd be brazen enough to post a photo of the rear !
Go on, I would like to see all that spaghetti.....
No festive lights or fancy room but it makes way better music than it should. Added the 172xs and 150X (replacing the 5i2) but the N-Sats will always be the star of the show.
Q: What does this "system" have to do with Naim Audio?

A: Stereophile mag mentioned that is has "Naim" sound. Well, after reading that I just had to buy it
How long do we have to wait for the Real Thing???!!! Portable player from Naim Audio.
Lets kickstart it
Nice to see Monitor Audios

Yes. Bet yours sound fantastic with the 250.2. Can't wait to add a bigger Naim amp but need to upgrade the turntable first....
