System Pics 2017
Posted by: hungryhalibut on 17 December 2016
Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

Perhaps you could post a system pic then. At least the system pic with dogs included a system, whereas your recent posts are just moaning. Put your money where your mouth is.

Its only early May and with 7 more months to go for this tread the ratio of 5 to 27 may well go askew..
Hi,
each page of this thread has an average of 40 posts, many with more than one picture. It makes a total of around 1080 posts, 5 of which constitute a percentage of 1:240. Anyway, nothing personal – I don't know you, you don't have a name – but if I had noticed the use of the word religiously I wouldn't even started replying. Not my field, sorry (pun with your avatar unintended).

Is it OK to post a photo of my two large woofers do you think?
Just don't post a shot of your bottom and all will be fine.
Yes please.
My woofers or my bottom?

I have actually and there are no pets in it.
is it not visible to you ??
stick to the point and reply if possible to the concern raised and keep your moans to yourself.
i invested where i found value and i stopped where i did not.
Is that a problem ??

I do have a name Max.
The Avatar i put up is the logo of the Aizawl Football Club. They are not the only football club to have a cross as part of their logo.
Nothing personal here too but my intent is being misconstrued by the resident "expert" and your comments about anger management are not very nice either.

Tony, just out of interest, how old is your house? My cousin lives in Essex and has just restored a house which has these wooden beams too. That house is over 500 years old. It feels like Henry VIII could enter suddenly.

No deviations allowed!!! To get things back on track, here's a photo of some HiFi....

Does it have to be a pic of my own setup (and pet)?

Tony, forgive me for being nosey....is that a floating floor? Or should I say, was that a floating floor before you plonked a pair of DBLs on it? I ask because I've been giving some thought to house construction recently, and it's effect on room acoustics. I'm curious as to weather such a floor resonates quite a bit, not being fixed to the ground below.

I am sure you have a name, but I don't know it, while you know mine. I am sure you are not called mpw. As for my comment, please re-read my first post: I talked about impatience management, not about anger management. You should be aware that while anger management is a serious (or so it seems in American films) medical issue, impatience management was just a joke.
Listen, I still don't know you, I have nothing personal with you but please take things more lightly. As you have seen, I am not the only one having reacted somehow ironically to your first post. It may not have been nice, but your complaint about the presence of some pets (I suppose you may, or may not, have included my reference to my wife in that – joking!) in pictures of systems looked excessively severe and perhaps pedant so some of us.
Cheers
Max

Hi Ardbeg, it was originally built in 1570 as a single large room (A Suffolk Longhouse). Bits have been added over the centuries (and some bits have dropped off...)

Hi Chris, yes, it's a floating oak floor. It rests on top of a thin membrane which is laid over the old floor of compressed flints and mud. There really isn't a sign of resonance from it, in fact the room is remarkably benign acoustically.

That's not the FULL picture – go on Tony, show us the classic Rear 'Rat's Nest'....or, better still, the much earlier 'dust enhanced' version – still one of my all time favourite 'system pics' here...!! ![]()
P.S. Hi again Tony, hope you are well..? It's been a while....! 2009 Forum Factory Tour & BBQ or so....

What a lovely cat. We keep hoping that one will adopt us, but sadly none have. Have you thought of putting the NDX on top - it may sound better and the cat would have a warm place to sit.

I never meant to offend pets , wives or pet owners

I observe that things unrelated to audio listening distract from the purpose of this thread and i look at this thread to look at music systems and get ideas and not for anything else.
I too did not like "smart" comments that are made and some of them could have been avoided too.
My response was only proportional - i believe.
Just as many folks disagree with my comments / observations.... i am sure many agree as well.
Weather they choose to express it or not is another thing.
Its time to let go.. and carry on..
We are all human beings and in that context i offer my apologies to all those who may have felt hurt about my comments on pets on this thread.
Good luck and have a nice week !
best regards

are the speakers looking away or is that just the camera angle ?
I like the simplicity of the system.
