Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.
I thought my Core had had a tough couple of months what with all that beta testing, so I took it on holiday to Cornwall last week with one of its mates, the Qb from our bedroom. The racking was quite informal though.....
I bought a Qb for my mother last week so she could listen to music in her new apartment in Barcelona. Anyway, sounds flat out amazing! I don't know how in the world they manage to get that quality sound out of such a small box. Build quality was spectacular too.

Hmm, I also enjoyed sharing a bottle last week & a rather nice Paulliac too. Owned by Credit Agricole I think, the second wine - Prelude a Grand Puy Ducasse is also rather good.
Yes I have also had good bottles of the Prelude. It's made for earlier drinking and is very good if you can get it.
best

Speakers got an upgrade today. New ProAc SM100s
Posted on: 31 May 2017 by james n
Nice looking speakers. Proac seem to have a good range of decently made speakers at not too stupid prices. British too

Yeah proper old school manufacturing, the SM100s are Stewart Tyler (CEO@ProAc) much revered new pro design. £1850 now so have gone up some, but really worth every penny and then some.

Some of these system pics are jaw dropping and will doubtless sound amazing, but FWIW, here's mine. I have a hybrid 555CD/552/300 with a Dolby Atmos HDR 7.1.4 Home Cinema System, using Sonus Faber loudspeakers for both my Hi-Fi and as the Front L and R channels for Home Cinema.

may i make a suggestion to you? try to have empty space between your speakers, you will have a much better sound quality. Speakers need to breath...

thanx but soundquality is excellent and stereopicture is wide and deep. The cabinet just acts like a bass trap. SQ is much better than with old position in the length of the room with free breathing. Furthermore there is no other place for the ikea tv cabinet in the room

Nahhh.... it must be those short socks...

If you got into ripping and streaming all those CDs, you'd have lots more room in your room.

So how do I post photos rather than links? I used Dropbox above but only get links. I tried to sign up to Photobucket but couldn't register because it insisted on a US zip code! Help!

Bryce, see the FAQ on how to post images. You'll need to host them somewhere online. I have used Photobucket and am UK based so shouldn't be an issue.

I'll try Photbucket again, but links only with Dropbox.

These look familiar...
Many years ago I had a pair of ProAc Studio 100s on some seriously hefty Target R stands. I assume these are the latest iteration of the Studio 100 as apart from the tweeter they look almost identical. IIRC the Target stands were basically designed for them and the two together were more than the sum of the separate parts. They were preferable to a number of other highly rated stands. If you come across a pair of the stands it may be worthwhile trying them together
Bryce, that TGTB&TU poster is awesome. Where did you get it?

Those cd's have all emotional value and sounded better than streaming.

Thanks Richard,
IIRC they are called the R2 stands. I owned a pair 10 years ago when I had an SN/HC into Neat Momentum 3i. Bought from KJ West one, they were mint!! but I sold them with the speakers for some daft reason (maybe because they were 37kg each stand?!). Probably the best stands I've ever owned. changed the speakers for WB Arcs back then.... I've been looking out for a mint pair for a while now but fear that's not gonna happen any time soon. Bryton/PMC are reproducing Target speaker stands, they bought the design and brand a few years back. Once I get settled (selling houses, moving next year) I'll get some more substantial stands then. ProAc say Atacama HMS 2.1 were designed for the D2s and S(M)100s
FYI - there's only two things that remain the same, that's the cabinet and the cone materials. Everything else has been updated/upgraded.
ProAc blurb The ProAc studio 100 was produced for over 20 years until 2013. They were made for both domestic and studio use. The studio 100 quickly became a favourite in the studios used as a near field monitor. For the last 2 years Stewart Tyler has been working on a new speaker named the ProAc SM100 and all parameters have been improved for both studio and domestic use. It now has a new bass driver with a new surround and dust cap along with a brand new 1 inch domed tweeter and crossover network, however the cabinet remains the same. The bass driver looks similar but has a new rubber surround for longevity and power handling and now comes in a ProAc basket. The tweeter is a new ProAc design with a 1 inch silk dome and a front plate to lower distortion, the dome has a new roll surround. The SM100 also features a new crossover, the overall sound quality is similar to the studio 100 but slightly smoother sound makes it ideal for long listening sessions.

Nothing new, just enjoying a Saturday morning spin on delightful RP3.
Splatter vinyl matching the cartridge is a nice touch.

I do, its hooked up to my 1997 NAIT 3 with MM cards which seems to suit it well. I bought it complete with the RP3 about 4 years ago and it has had relatively light service as I was working away from home during the week.
I did make sure that the tip weight was correct as I had had an original RP1 that ran heavy if you pushed the counter weight to the suggested position, but it was simplicity to setup.
It has a nice clean presentation and is reasonably tolerant of some of the old jazz stuff that I inherited from my dad. That's him on the motorbike in my avatar by the way.
I would say that it is probably a sweet spot product in the Rega range when bought with the Elys pre-installed.

Sorry I have drifted away from Naim after many years with them. Last Naim configuration before changing was to the tune of 282/Hicap/202/CD5X/Naim DAC

Your images seem to be broken

That's because the Naim system has drifted away.... leaving an empty space.
