System Pics 2017

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

A 70s BBC box, without its name, would sound just the same?
A 70s BBC box isn't boring...
I like the sound of the Spendor BC 1 for more than 30 years.

Lovely photos Perizoqui.

Very nicely done. Those Focals look right at home in your lounge. Cool Tesla too ![]()

Far more important than the Tesla: Encyclopedia Brittanica!

Bought it the day we bought our first house with kids! Of course, they use Wikipedia most of the time, but still... Brittanica gets pulled off the shelf every so often. National Geographic collection above it includes lunar landing and some nice WW1 issues. Of course, the only purpose of all those books, as we all know, is to dampen acoustic vibrations ![]()

My house did not come with the kids included :-)
The good thing of books is that its a bit better controlled than tablets and pc's. I have no issues with kids playing Minecraft though ...
All I'm seeing for pictures from some of you is a 3rd party hosting message, can anyone see something else?

Unfortunately a lot of posters, myself included, used Photobucket as a picture hosting site. In the last week it so they have worked through their user base removing the use of their site to host pictures for another site unless you pay a $400pa charge.

Bah, sod that. Is there a go-to alternative?
Flickr still works.
Hmmm flickr doesn't work for me.

Copy 'embed code' from Flickr then past in the <> reply option?

Imgur's working very well for me, with far fewer annoying ads than PB had. I don't mind seeing ads to allow sites to get funded, but the PB ones had become seriously intrusive.
Apologies for re-posting, but photo bucket decided to change it's terms hours after I posted. Thank you EOINK for the Imgur suggestion. Worked great, and as you say, much less annoying with adds.

Those focals make sense in a room that size they look too threatening in a typical UK living room, like a couple of heavies looming over their captive. I probably watched to many episods of the Sweeney in my youth.
Nice room with big Focals. The Tesla model X is not to my likings, model S is soo much better looking.

Our last house was an old Victorian with lots of smaller rooms. Lovely, but most of the space went unused most of the time. When we designed this house, we made it half the size of the old one, but all the space in one big room. Much more efficient, and it feels huge, even if it isn't really. Those Focal's are magical. I've just never heard another pair of speakers anywhere near as good. I'm still embarrassed by how much they were, but it was worth it. They're incredible.

Perhaps, but the X has 3 rows of seats, which is very nice when you have 3 kids!
@GraemeH: Thanks, great advice to use flickr with embedded source code.
My 252/300 DR arrived last week but the Fraim was wrong colour so had to go back. The stack includes my NDX now with XPS DR for testing...
This I am currently comparing with the Allo Sparky/USBridge running DietPi and Roon into Metrum Pavane. The stag has also joined the party...
The dealer gave the SL2s a looking over and discovered one of the tweeters had fallen back into the surround, so he did some surgery with sticky tape and a hairdryer. They are sounding magnificent even though they still have to be fully serviced and the installation on the Fraim completed. More to come...
It's always good to see some SL2s.

It's happened to a few us who were using Photobucket. I've now switched to imgur.
