System Pics 2017

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

@GraemeH: Thanks, great advice to use flickr with embedded source code.

I do have a Flickr account, but have never been successful in posting pictures from it to the Naim Audio forum pages. Would you please be kind enough to share with us how exactly to use 'embedded source code'?

Thank you.

Clive,

Select the embed icon (arrow pointing right)  at the bottom of your picture on flickr and then choose the size you want to use. After that copy the blue URL in the 'Share 1 photo to' box. Click on the 'source code' <> in your reply box on the forum, paste the URL your have copied there and then click OK.

All I'm seeing for pictures from some of you is a 3rd party hosting message, can anyone see something else?

Unfortunately a lot of posters, myself included, used Photobucket as a picture hosting site. In the last week it so they have worked through their user base  removing the use of their site to host pictures for another site unless you pay a $400pa charge.

Bah, sod that. Is there a go-to alternative?

It's happened to a few us who were using Photobucket. I've now switched to imgur.

I'm another who has switched to Imgur, far better than Photobucket was. Just upload your image then copy image address and paste it into here in the usual way.

I've just looked back at my old postings and it looks like the blighters have got me too. So Imgur, via the app or web site?

I've only used it via their website.

I've been able to share directly from my microsoft onedrive account too...

Also, what on earth are Photobucket thinking? This is not going to end well for them.

I agree to a degree, but obviously Photobucket aren't making ends meet. Server facilities house complex engineering that require a lot of electricity (if not just for the air conditioning) and electricity is expensive even at commercial rates. Digital pictures are memory intensive and just imagine all the old blog and forum related crap servers are sucking up power to display.

My misgiving with Photobucket's new rate structure is that I didn't use them as a photo storage medium; I do that on my own flash drives. I only rarely used Photobucket expressly for the handful of third-party hosting pics I publically posted here. I'm surely not going to pay their exorbitant hosting rate and I'll accept the dead links now shown for my personal pics on this forum. I moved on to Imgur and it's worked for the single photo I've since posted here. Imgur may someday meet the same fate as Photobucket.

Probably best to continue discussion of what's currently happening with Photobucket accounts on one of the threads over in the Padded Cell.  For anyone who is using an image hosting service that's working, please keep posting system pics here..

I still don't get it (not to disobey Richard) - but this photo is from my PB account - when I log in it offers me a chance to upgrade with no ads, but not much else...I just "x" away from the offer and here I am posting a photo on the forum - but since I am posting a system pic, Richard can't get mad at me!

Moderated Post:  Mark, system pics only please.  For the rest of us, your picture was just that awful Photobucket banner. If you want to discuss further please do so on the thread running in the Padded Cell.  Thanks.

Sorry Richard - I did not realize I was the only one who could see it.

plan to get another Fraim base and shelf to split out into classic Brains & Brawn x3 x2 - then LP12 and NDX on top

stageluine wont fit anywhere else on the Fraim or length to place on floor, seems to work for the moment

If my memory serves me well, you were after 300DR instead of 300.

Bingo!

Bit of a trick question as there's no difference to see.

I picked up the 300DR on Sunday and have been playing it continuously via the usb ever since. Sounds awful at the moment

That's because there is no 3.5+ meters of NacA5 on your photo.

The TQB will stay put until the 300 settles down and then I'll start thinking about cables. Don't want to change too much at the same time.

SL loom far too much of an investment for my 300 setup so contemplating Vertere...
