I am now living in central London, I moved from Hampshire last year, ( a smaller place was one reason for the downgrade in equipment) but still in the South East corner! I fell in love with DeVores after a dem in New York though. Then they were attached to a Shindo pre and power with a Naim DAC/XPS front end. Lovely.

I really enjoy reading your comments on here and I have no doubt that your advocacy of the 272 influenced my decision.

yo MJ -- nice to see another Devore fan on here! (mine are Gibbon 8s, powered by a 282/250.)

but please don't fear the turntable! a Rega Planar 6/Ania cartridge/Fono MC phono stage will have you up and spinning with zero faff and no ground loops.

Hey Joe!

I downgraded from Gibbon Nines to 3XL but had to stay with DeVores after listening to the usual suspect brands. I suppose I am used to the house sound.

Aesthetically Rega is top of the turntable shopping list, but I haven't gone listening yet, I think that would be the point of no return! Thanks for the tip.

I just did it bigger, 7 pairs of converters here, and I hear real improvement in sound, but you have to try it yourself I guess

How did you succeed to make it so compact? Mine is 3 times bigger.

You owe here an hairdyer. Only to be used when you are not listening, because toroidals start to hum when the hairdyer is used.

admin: thanks for letting me know, it displayed fine on my end, hopefully third is a charm.

The next step will replace the good Elac 244 with the Elac BS 314, another category, more coherence and refinement. I changed my loved 263 (very similar to your 244) to 314 with superuniti and it was a jump on another planet. Elac has a wonderful sound and with 314 you reach really high levels

I think I'll audition some dynaudio before, some C1, maybe a special 40. Cant just everyone be insane when it comes to this brand, it must be just unfortunate circumstances every single time I've had a listen to them.

Nice set up, speakers look really nice set against the fire surround and wooden floor. Did you make other speaker cable comparisons with the LS25 cables?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yes I tried a few VOVOX Vocalis, TQB, HiDiamond 3,Chord Epic etc etc. Had them all here, the LS25's are/were a clear winner.
