System Pics 2017
Posted by: hungryhalibut on 17 December 2016
Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

I had the speakers about 8 months ago in anticipation for the Nova. Previously listened to a Superuniti with them and was borrowing a XS2 from my dealer. Nova is significant step from both with a much more open and transparent sound. Very happy!!

Very stylish. The latest Naim kit looks good. Enjoy your new system.

Would you be able to sleep with these

two rooms away?
Could someone copy Big John's pics, I think I missed them the first four times....![]()
Nova looks splendid, anyway.

Nicely "quoted".

Looks like something from Alien! I think I'd have nightmares if I had those![]()

Those would have to sound better than having the artist performing live in my living room for them to be allowed in the house!
Lowest WAF ever?

Did a Seminar earlier this year, David Wilson's Alex, cut from the same mold as those Aliens you refer to.

Very neat & stylish!
JJ, is this vinyl storage unit bespoke made or purchased? The IKEA Kallax is deemed unacceptable by SWMBO and (as my vinyl collection is growing ax well...) currently looking for alternatives

Nice Read!Statement~$270KSpeakers~ $200KSL ICs & Cabling ~ 15K
It seems you've no money left to buy a source component!

Hi Greg,
it's from the french company Junddo (.com), a promising young start-up (previously named Estis). You can have it in whatever size you want. It's solid oak.

Geeze - those have the lowest HAF ever.
They may be fugly, but at least they're expensive...Looks like one of the Transformers turned into an audiophile.

I'd rather have those than the originals

Nice!
Might it be an idea to stop posting and re-posting pictures of ugly speakers that one doesn't own, and getting back to posting System Pics?
Because?
Especially is you didn't need to leave the room ![]()
Ahhhh! But there's another door.

You spoilsport, Nigel. Maybe we need an ugly speakers thread...

Oh no Mr flatfish- type person! Such posts are of great value in reinforcing my assertion with Mrs Tonym that our DBLs are enormously attractive in comparison.

I'll play. Trying out a RaspberryPi with Hifiberry Digi+ Pro into a borrowed DAC (a CA DACMagic). I just wanted to see what it'd be like isolating the various functions of my 172.

Thus far it sounds a bit warmer but slightly less detailed going via the DAC and then analogue into the 172 (which I actually quite like). But it sounds pretty much the same going digital from the Pi into the 172's DAC as it does when using the 172's streamer.
Not a pretty picture, as it's a rough & ready experimental setup. But plenty going on in it. And it's been an interesting experiment.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but clearly the article says it all!
But pictures is what I love about Systems pics, it emphasizes the how, as opposed to the why!
Enjoy your Music, The Why!
Allante93!
PS. Don't feel like the lone Ranger, tonym!
The Briks aren't that high on the WAF Scale either!
