System Pics 2017

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

Glad to be able to see the Custom Design Milan audio stand in situ. It looks really good. On the advice of my audio dealer, I ordered a 4 tier version with the 10mm clear glass in walnut finish (to match the Super 10's) but no iRAP support. Should arrive this week.
Some nice systems as usual boys!
Not as good as the main system, but not bad at all. It's great to be able to play the old singles.
Good to see some vinyl spin, looks like a P2 of the latest
Not sure what amp (and speakers) maybe written elsewhere ?
Simple. Very simple!
Classic stuff Gianluigi! Very similar to my system really.

That silhouette looks like an A&R A60 - very nice. Is that Chord Ley Line speaker cable? HH, what speakers have you got on the end?

Indeed Stuart!
System works great! But i have some echo/refraction in the new room which is enormous! I'm on it...

If, as you say, there's another door, then I'd be bricking** this one up, plaster over and redecorate this entire wall, perhaps in a strickingly contrasting colour (black, deep purple, deep red??). I suspect this would give you the dedicated listening room that every audiophile needs (even if SWMBO refuses to acknowledge the need). You'd have the freedom to place your audio kit wherever the SQ is optimised.
** if, on the other hand, this is a stud partition wall then so much the better, almost a DIY project I'd suspect - a few lengths of 4x2, a few nails, a sheet or two of plasterboard and you're away.

There is something rather appealing about simple two box systems (well to me anyway).
Nice.

The speakers are Q Acoustics 3010, or something like that. The problem that I now have is that as soon as Hilary spotted the Rega she wanted it downstairs.... Which means we need a phono stage. Oh dear...
New to the forum so thought I would post a pic of my system. LP 12 started life as a Majik before getting Lingo 3, Ekos SE, Kore and Tramp 2. My original amp was a Rega Elex-R with an Aria phone stage which was good but decided that Naim was the way to go. So, bit of hunting on the used market and 202/200 with NAPSC and HiCap DR, stage line with HiCap all driving Dynaudio X38 which I already had. Still getting used to the change, only all been up and running for a little under a week but added the DR and moved the other HiCap onto the stageline today so I guess time will tell.
The red plinth looks really cool Nigel - even complements your picture on the wall!

Well thank you but the stag and SWMBO both agree (and I have to admit) that the SQ is just fine. Incidentally this is also the view held by the German Department for Culture, Media and Sport, who are responsible for the appropriate installation of Naim systems in listed buildings ;-)
The rega does look really nice. I dug my (second hand in 1988) planar 3 out a few years ago and gave it a good overhaul. Wasn't prepared to pay up for stageline/hicap to feed my SuperUniti - just seemed overkill for the amount I listen to vinyl - so took my dealer's advice on a tiny little ifi iphono stage. Been very happy. The planar 3 (although its a tad grandfather's axe at this point) is the last surviving piece of my first hifi and I love having it around.
Nigel, a custom red plinthed LP12 would look rather nice there me thinks....

Don't be silly, my LP12 days are long gone! I need a phono stage, which I will get hold of this afternoon - a Rega Fono MM - then I'll be able to see how it performs through the Naim - I've only heard it with the little Q Acoustics speakers so far.
Looking forward to the update. Looks great sat there.
Nigel,
I have had a chance to see the Quadraspire, my dealer has bought some for the 'British Room'. I must admit that it's much more attractive in person than in photo. It looks solid and has a certain juvenile elegance. I apologize for my criticism.
Ciao

So much for your 2 box system!
All kidding aside, looking forward to a pic with the phono stage.

I'd say a Planar six would match great and should really be able to improve on the streaming stuff quite substantially
But its yet another box, ttpsu, so guess Nigel has enough of it.
The P2 is fine though if vinyl is not main source
I just counted 10 boxes in my own setup and its really silly
Btw those Q speakers are nice but a little muffled, I just changed from such to shoebox Royds and much preferred the latter, would he need floorstands, Rega Ela or Royd Minstrel comes to mind, watch out he might want to listen more upstairs then..
With the Fono plugged in, it's sounding very good indeed. As it's going through the main system I had the performance pack added. Goodness knows what difference it makes, as nothing is run in, but it seems a good idea, and the Bias 2 matches the plinth beautifully. It's a long time a record spun in this house, and it's great to have the ability to play them again.
What no bronze upgrade? Another shelf for the phono stage? I think. I sense mission creep.
Evening HH
Nice to see the Tt added. Now you can trawl the growing number of vinyl shops and the web for all those lps and 45's. I love my vynil , a labour of love of some 45 plus years. .
Happy listening
