System Pics 2017

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

A bunch of gladioli...

[@mention:4804681823084713]   Nigel, did you nick the flowers from Morrissey's back pocket by any chance?

Am I the only one finding something vaguely funerary in this otherwise elegant shot? One would almost expect to open the fireplace and take out the ashes of someone – oh well, I was joking.

Have you been hitting the Barolo?

Thanks chaps.  Now I look at that picture again, the Nait 2 and US do actually make a face!  Looks to be rather more of ':-I' face than a ':-)' one though!

Yep, I love the chrome bumper components.  Not only do they hold a timeless beauty in terms of design, I just  love the sound they produce and never tire of either looking at or listening to my system(s).  This is why I love Naim

SL2 mausoleum ornaments? they do look a bit like guardians set around the white marble with a pot of flowers sitting on the side, sort of minimalist sphinxes.

Calls to mind my wife's grandfather's funeral. He was burried in a family tomb in Montpellier cemetary which has an entrance a bit like that. They lifted a small slab and dug out a bit of soil from the front then removed a virtical slab revealing a chamber with a few other coffins already in place. After the ceremony the coffin was slid into the tomb but it must have got wedged in at an angle as when we passed the tomb after a bit of a walk around there was a grave digger jumping up and down on it inside the chamber to try to get it to lie flat. Ealing eat your heart out.

Well, I think they look nice.

Pregnant, funerary, whatever next!! At least they could never be described as boring.

I think the SL2s are a very cool, understated design and look contemporary considering their age. Certainly the best looking Naim speaker IMHO.

Not yet, I still have to begin cooking something for dinner, but it's a great idea.

I was joking! I like your living room very much and you know it.

 Ciao,

Nice mix of old and new, as others have mentioned the CB look is timeless and fits right into any environment.

As HH mentioned the left pair look very happy and with all the sh1t in the world at the moment its good to see and placed a smile on my face

True, but not much competition!!

Hifiman, you are very kind. I knew that Massimo was either joking or drunk, and it's my own fault for the gladioli! I no longer say anything negative about people's system pics. Some setups look dreadful to me, but they are their owners' pride and joy, and different people like different things.

I didnt say anything about Lewis's picture by the way. It must have been someone else.

Lovely, Lewis. There is a timeless beauty and elegance to 'Chrome Bumper' Naim. The best look ever, as far as I'm concerned. Different times eh?

John.

Quite right John. Lewis posts some great shots on Instagram and there is still something that looks so right about the CB kit, especially the Naits and the 250 / 135

And the NAT01.

Sorry HH it was MattNBarns who mentioned the left set looking happy, long day at work!!!

SL2s - I have only heard a few times at the dealers. Superb speaker maybe one day I may own a pair (rare as hen's teeth) but for now my Proac Tab 10 are doing a great job and no rush to change.

You have a point when compared to just Naim speakers. But I think design wise, the SL2 compare well to many other manufacturers' offerings.

I am never drunk, my stomach couldn't bear it. Anyway, naive as I may still be, I have learned that if you're drunk and you post something where thousands of people can read, you're not drunk, you're a plain fool.

Gladioli are nice. Ciao, hope to see you in Milano.

My NAC 202 has gone for service since the tuner input mysteriously went silent. In the mean time I use my trusty old Nait, all original and a fantastic example. It's a joy as always, and it's in very good company so I think the nait enjoy it too

Actually it's just the sleeve, they've been mixed up by previous owner. I have a lot of reggae vinyl though and plenty King Jammy produced records of course
