System Pics 2017
Posted by: hungryhalibut on 17 December 2016
Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.
Well, you’ll never know, as they are being used with a Devialet. Arf, arf.
Nice chair (bottom right), James... but not central to speakers?
ps - you know you've got a nice set up when people start commenting on things like dogs & chairs
After those Neat speakers, it's nice to see such a beautiful design. I recall a smaller Shahinian sounding rather fine indeed.
We also need more Magnepans on this forum. I'm seriously tempted to get some 'small' magnepans for my TV setup.
Thanks chaps - yes i bought them as they'd be easy to move on if needed. So far so good, a different presentation to front firing speakers but they play music and i've spent a bit too much time over the last few days listening to them so that's a good thing. The main listening position is on a sofa facing the speakers, the Eames (copy) chair off to the side was for future headphone plans. Given my glacial pace at changing speakers this may not happen for quite a while....

Surfing the Forum, as usual.
Going on three years, since I entered Naimland, and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
After the years, one develops a sense of awareness and connection with the Forum.
With your comments, and replies, I feel connected as we share some ideas and thoughts.
Well, beautiful Room, just the look, design, etc....
The How plays a role in this hobby we share.
Even when the Music is off, the layout and design impacts our psychic.
Enjoy Your Music, the Why we do this.
But the How, is what initially lured us into this hobby of ours!

PS. Now you're the Guy with the Sharp PAD!
I gotta figure out that Imgur, and post some pictures. No more Photo Bucket.
Good for you James, I think they look fantastic. There is something really satisfying about a couple of boxes and a pair of nice looking speakers.
Me again! I’d intially sold off of most of my original system and downsized to the Atom which over a period of time began to regret. Back to SN2 for a second and last time. For now I use the Atom in a second system and have swapped my twenty5.21 for the ProAc Tablette 10s.
Cant quite put my finger on what I began not to like about the PMCs, but in this room Proac’s are a revelation and possibly the best speakers I’ve owned. My future and final upgrade will be a phono stage and possibly a DAC.

I realise it can be annoying when other people try spending your money for you, but doesn’t that setup really deserve an Aria?

No problem ChrisSU, you’re right it does deserve an Aria. I’m hoping to have one within the next couple of weeks.

Thank you James. Proac’s really are the star of the show!
Like the Tablettes, but are they oak, I can't find a reference to them in that finish on the Proac website. I would consider a pair if they did.

Hmm - i'd assumed they were Cherry but just read the OP's description. Would Maple be too light in colour Charles (Oak sort of sits between the two) ?
They certainly look like cherry in the photos. Maple is much lighter and Oak usually has less red in it and a very distinctive grain.

Nova Nigel you mean
I'm sure we'll find out soon. You can't keep anything secret on this damn internet.
I was simply commenting on James’s lovely new speakers and the two boxes that comprise the electronics.
Kudos to James N. and Artferg20 for two really lovely systems. Thoughtful balancing of space, ease of use, and sound quality. First rate.

What a lovely system and room, the Tab 10s look great on those white stands.
PS welcome to the Tab 10 club - best speakers I have ever owned

Hi Charles,
Strange! I couldn’t find them on the Proac website either, but found this from Vickers website. I was given a list of finishes my preference was either white or natural oak.

Became a little paranoid, so popped in the loft to check the box.

Seem to be a large room for those Tab 10
Surpriced you have them that far out from wall and toed in so much, guess its a result of experiment
Interesting so many like these speakers even mini, their possible best choice, I have them on my list as soon as they launch a non biwire version
The Proac Tab 10 can fill any room with a wonderful sound, they maybe small but they pack a punch
