Cleaning speaker cones

Posted by: Hal on 18 December 2016

Last year I moved in to a dusty environment. Blower cannot do the trick for mid bass woofers. Thinking of a damp cotton cloth but I do not want to mess with treated - paper things. Speakers always remain their grilles off.

Any suggestion?

Vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment on the end?

That's what I use, works a treat, just don't use the high settings if too OTT.

Some dub reggae at extreme volume works for me! I actually use the phrase "just blowing the dust off the speakers, dear" .

A camera lens cleaning brush or one of those brushes usually included in LCD TV screen cleaning kits. Perfect :-)

Blow, don't suck. Camera brushes often have a little 'puffer' on the end to do the job. Alternatively, blow through a straw.
