NAC202 Flatcap NAP150

Please advise! Can i power a NAC202 via a flatcap? I have read elsewhere that I am unable to power a NAC202 from a NAP150? I currently have a NAC112x, which the NAC202 will replace.

You can power a NAC202 from a Flatcap.

You can also power a NAC202 from a NAP150, just so long as you have the link plugs in place on the 202.  I'm not sure I'd particularly recommend it though, except as a stop-gap to a Flatcap or Hicap - the relative weak spot on the NAP150 wasn't the amp itself, it was the pre-amp power supply.  This was improved on the NAP150x.

It will work well provided the speakers are not too demanding for the NAP 150.  But I would suggest upgrading the AFC to a HC as funding approvals permit.

I tried what you are proposing to do when I had my CD5 and Nait 5. My thought was that the  CD5 wasn't a good enough source for the NAC202, so I changed direction. Sorry, because I know it's not what you want to hear.

The NAC202 powered by a FC is a stop gap until i can find a NAP200, followed by a HC then NAPSC to upgrade with, then it will will really sing

I've just had a look at your profile.  The 202 will be a big step up.  Your Neats will be fine with the 150.  If digital is your main listening source I would look to improve that - a CD5XS or CDX2?.   If on the other hand vinyl is your preference - nice turntable - I would get the HC next - the soundstage will improve with far more resolution.

Good luck.
