NAC-N 272: how to have the display permanently off?

Posted by: bicela on 22 December 2016

Is there any way to have the display always off, even when we remotely control the NAC-N by the App?

It seems to me not possible, the shortest Auto off is 10 sec. and I don't like the flickering.

- provocation mode on -

Apart waiting it goes off due to wearing, just after the warranty time...

Merry Christmas

Every time you change something using the App the screen will light-up.

Hi Adam, exactly that I want not! Perhaps another suggestion into the next beta firmware.

Anyway, thanks.

Good point. I think the logic is that this way the streamer 'confirms' it's 'listening' to your commands.

I have set all my streamers to a 'display off after 2 minutes' - to avoid exactly the problem you've described. Logic being - I will get everything done in two minutes. If I finish messin 'bout - will just use a 'disp' button.

Yes, joke apart I have really the display far and orthogonal to me, it means that I already can't see properly the display, I just see it goes on/off as a luminescent source.

The 272 can set the Naim logo permanently off (I can't understand why as it is beautiful) but not the same for the display.

This triggers my question.

Adam, are you still in contact with George at his private mail? It is a while I get no answer.

Here's a suggestion for the next beta firmware: how about the option to display the time in the same size text as the volume? Maybe then I could see it from across the room

Apologies to the OP for diverting the thread.

No problem, post suggestions on UI improvements and I will report it.

The green display seems have counted days in favour of the large and color ones of the new line, but why don't try to keep it better and green!

Perhaps he's pre-occupied with Christmas preparations?
