Does hdx iradio service support bbc radio3 in hidef? I can get standard mp3 128k, but want better for the carols from kings today

Jon,it does on my NDX if that's any help?

actually carols from kings is on radio 4 not 3

hdx lists only mp3 192k for r4 and mp3 128k for r3 which is a chocolate teapot

myradio.naimaudio.com can be got to via an entirely different url

So I think hdx is chocolate teapot for this.

Might have to go back to lab to get my unitiqute

Jon - this is one of my gripes with Naim over the HDX - when the BBC changed to high quality HLS streams Naim did not offer us a solution. So internet radio on the HDX is very poor now and not what it was.

There are times when an FM tuner might just be better, even if it is only a NAT03.

Definitely worth getting a streamer hooked up to use the BBC HLS streams.

By that yardstick, the Core is an ashtray on a motorbike...

I've got a NAT03 so the fact the HDX doesn't cut the mustard for radio is somewhat academic in this household but it still grates.

With BBC R3 & its low/no compression,  I prefer my NAT-05 for classical (Carols From Kings) over HD HLS.   Live rock & jazz, maybe is better on HLS due to more extended high frequencies  (FM is limited by pilot tone filter & 12-15kHz max)  also HLS has more bottom end power/grunt.

Just back from the lab with my unitiqute which is stuffed on top of my 52 for the time being.

Not ideal but it'll do

It is a unique plinth made of Koa wood from Hawaii by Peter Harban. He said it was so hard to work with he wouldnt do another -- I hope he continued to try!

It is truly stunning in the right light

So am I. What do you think of it so far, SQ wise? Or is it too early to say?
