folks, I am looking for some validation and clarification.
I am back in England and was able to persuade my dad not to go down the Bose route, but get the Mu-so Qb.
After a demo at What You See And Hear in Beaconsfield, he happily walked out with one.
The install was easy and the music playing has been great either through hi res on USB or wifi through airplay / iTunes, after the 1.5 firmware update.
The setup - BT 5 hub, net gear 8 port router, WD cloud drive. PC and Mu-so wireless through BT hub
The questions -
1) I think there is Twonky on the WD cloud, is there a benefit to using this over the UpNp of the WD ? But see q 2
2) I don't think you can get Asset on the WD cloud but is there a better streamer app for the WD ? I.e. What is the best setup up for streaming in this setup ?
3) With the Naim 5.1 app, does it create an 'index' on the app / device of the tracks / albums et al ? Does it create it everytime it is launched ? As it seems to take time each time - this is using the Upnp view from the WD
4) Does it not read CD cover images greater than a certain size ? As it does not seem to display hi res 1400x1400 images.
5) Are there any recommended setting changes to be made via the Naim app, or is out of the box good enough ?
Otherwise, everyone has been suitably impressed by the sound for its size, and I have the wife's blessing for one for us, which has been a bonus :-)
Thanks in advance for any answers or pointers.

Guy, based on my experience with the Muso over the Christmas break, you maybe should have let him get that Bose he was lookout. I had a Soundlink mini, which was a lot better than the Muso I currently have in my kitchen!! Sorry it doesn't answer the specifics of your question.

Congratulations of your dad's purchase. I now have 3 Muso-QB's and they are simply terrific! FAR better than the Sonos system I bought them to replace.
WD drives, to the best of my knowledge, use the inbuilt uPnP software and I don't believe it can be replaced or have another software installed. The likes of QNAP and Synology do have the added capability of adding Assett on the QNAP and Minim server on the Synology.
I don't think an index is created each time you launch the app as such but it will read the contents of the NAS drive which may take a short time. I have 14,000 tracks and they appear very quickly on 5.1
All of my album art dislays correctly - I don't know what resolution they are - they were all ripped and artwork added by my Naim HDX whatever resolution that works with.
The only setting to change really, is the Loudness setting. If your Muso is positioned close to a wall for example, you might prefer the loudness to be switched off.

Thanks all for the input.
Don't worry he still has a Bose as his main system... although i think the Qb has the clarity - even the brother in law who works in events was impressed with the quality of it.
With his setup, we are using the KISS approach, but all is working well with the iTunes / airplay approach. They present instantly on there, but the Naim app takes some time - some of the images have come in, so it must have been time, but they didn't come in on the USB which should have been quick. I have re indexed the WD to see if that helps. The loudness is on as it is away from the wall. ( I have the QNAP / Asset setup which i could see working much better )
My thoughts were that no more could be tweaked with what he has, but I just wanted to make sure - remote support is always more tricky !
