It's very sad. Rip Carrie.

Only two high profile deaths have every really moved me. One was Freddie Mercury and the biggest one for me was Ayrton Senna, I worshipped that guy (and still do).

I for one will never forget that Sunday in May, when watching the San Marino GP, Ayrton Senna   met his untimely fate. Did I know him personally? Of course not. Did I admire him and respect him for what he did and fought for - absolutely.

Did I grieve? Yes to an extent - that's what makes me (us?) human...

I've just had look through some of the RIP threads and I can't find any outpouring of grief. Mainly just sadness at the loss of someone whose work had in some way touched our lives and if we can't reflect that then the world is indeed a sad place. Whilst I'm here I'd just like to add Bobby Welliins, the excellent British Saxophonist who died in October,  to the list of those lost in this sad year. RIP.

A nice man, Bobby Wellins. I tried to buy a CD at one of his gigs but he'd run out so offered to pop back to his hotel and get one for me.

Yes, Debbie Reynolds, famous for the movie 'Singing in the rain'......(way before my time) .. at least as they say 'she had a good innings '

Yeah that was surprising, she told her son she missed her daughter, was under stress from Carrie's death had a stroke and died.  Man that's the way I want to go. I cared for my folks and last 5 years was ever more difficult, but 90 for both was incredible.

I sort of grew up on those MGM films, squeaky clean fun, singing and dancing whenever they felt like it, always getting the girl,.  by 12 I was bored with it till "A hard Days Night" came out.

Debbie had bought up lots of Hollywood memorabilia after 3 husbands left her broke. Liz's costume from Cleopatra and many other wanting a museum.  That didn't happen so 8 years ago started selling it and made millions, smart woman and lots of gusto energy.  She sure got dumped on in her life but kept it together and came out a winner, gotta admire that.
