New App - No Alternative Rooms / Streamers Selectable?

Sorry, Internet has been off for days and I've been busy over Xmas.

Internet returned yesterday and my Naim app seems to now be v5.1. There seems to be no facility for swapping 'rooms' (streamers) I'm looking everywhere but where is it? I'm currently stuck with the qute in the bedroom and cannot control the others. Everything can be controlled by my wifes iPad (which as yet hasn't updated itself) so the devices are still as they were, as is the network. Sorry if this has been posted already but I have a mountain of crap to catch up with without Naim's self-made stuff-ups...

This is a bug several of us have run into. If you close the app by double clicking the home button and swiping upwards, then reopen the app, you should be back to normal.

If that doesn't work, then delete the app and then reinstall it, but I don't think you will need to do this.

If you delete the existing app, then install the new one, it will work. I understand that this may cause a loss of playlists, in which case David's suggestion above may work, though it didn't when I tried it. 

If you have playlists you want to keep, put them on your wife's iPad before deleting and reinstalling (if you haven't already lost them with the update!)

Ok thanks gents! Not had time to look into this further but I will soon. I tried killing the app to no avail. When I tried using the app today it was 'new' I didn't delete or install anything myself manually. Not sure if it is possible to re-install 4.x. Mystified so far.

You can't reinstall the old app.

If it upgraded the app on its own then you must have your phone set to do that, which you might for the future want to disable! The ver 5.1 of the Naim app came out immediately before Christmas, basically because ver 5.0 which was released a week or so earlier was so buggy.

If closing the app didn't work then you could force it into the rooms screen by turning off wifi on your phone, closing and restarting the Naim app and waiting until you get the no Wifi message. Then turn wifi on again. I haven't tried this myself as I haven't needed to, but I'm trying to be creative. Deleting the app and installing from scratch should work as a last resort.

Ok. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. When it came to life a small bar appeared at the bottom of the screen then disappeared (I wasn't sure what it was and nothing I did could make it reappear. I'm using an iPad mini).

I deleted / reinstalled the app and was 'ready' this time. A bar appeared which has 'find rooms' written in it. I would judge this bar 'disappears' within 3 seconds if you don't jab it quick. Once hit, a 'wheel' spun in the middle of the screen briefly followed by (ta-dah!) my 3 Naims. Brilliant! Now it operates pretty much like the older version did.

I did not try to disconnect the pad, and I'm not going to fiddle with it but I am wondering what will happen if I have to turn off one or more devices. I can find no way whatsoever for this app to 'find rooms' again... The old app seemed to 'just work' in this respect. Surely there should be something in settings? 

It should find them automatically. I turned a streamer off and on again and it just appeared in due course. So you shouldn't have to go through that again (he said hopefully!).

When you press the room you are on, the others will appear as well, so you can at the switch between them. And at the bottom of the screen the 'find my rooms' message will appear too, or at least that is what happens on a full sized ipad.

Yes what you say is true (in my case for v4) but I had no 'room' to go from or to, it was totally blank. I'm used to switching between rooms on a daily basis for however v4 was current but my 1st encounter with this new one had nothing where I would expect the thing you describe to be. It was only when the 'find room' was intercepted that it started working like the old app, otherwise I was stuck without the relevant 'feature' to toggle. Fingers x'd it doesn't happen again. I looked everywhere!
