What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
I'm unfortunately not as up to speed as I'd like to be with contemporary artists but this a truly wonderful relatively recent release.
On Tidal well worth checking out.

Who's the "chick", Steve. I mean, in your avatar?
An old silver screen heartthrob of mine, her initials SB... guesses?

That would be Senta Berger I think .. a stunning lady .. I remember her in the Quiller Memorandum and the Istanbul Express .. if my memory serves me ..
Pink Floyd. Wish You Were Here (1975). On CBS Master Sound vinyl from 1981. Analog-to-digital-to-vinyl done in the early 1980s shouldn't sound this stunning. Somehow it does.
Pink Floyd. The Final Cut. On original vinyl from 1983. I may not play this as often as some other PF albums, but always enjoy giving it a spin. A very well done production.
Cyndi Lauper. She's So Unusual. On original vinyl from 1983. Looking for a fun synth-pop escape? This one is very good and quite accomplished for a debut album.
The Knack. Get The Knack. On original vinyl from 1979. Another quality debut album. Upbeat rock 'n' roll with some very good lead guitar and drumming.
There's something utterly compelling to this album. So dark, so much power. Rather like a slowly spinning vortex, you can't help being drawn in. Original vinyl.

Absolutely correct John, usually a red head but she most definitely suited the black look too!!
