What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIII)

2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Really enjoyed this HiRes LSO Live Rachmaninov Symphony 3 earlier.
I'm still not convinced that HiRes always delivers an improvement over CD rips, but this has terrific sonics. I recently heard this work played live by the Bournemouth SO and there's so much going on in the scoring of this work with, in particular, a huge group of percussionists playing a wide range of instruments. This recording really separates them all and each one starts and stops very naturally as opposed to just sounding and then fading, or being overwhelmed by the rest of the orchestra. Great Gergiev performance too.
The Bennie Maupin Ensemble: Penumbra
Another excellent album not played for a very long time. I am so lucky that the discs don't come with an expiration date..

Starting with Part One of Two from this rather fine double album, the opener sounding like something a modern day Simon & Garfunkel might undertake.

Joe, its worth watching the movie - its superb, esp on a good system (was lucky enough to see and hear it demo'd at an AV show). The opening track as David Byrne introduces Psycho Killer is still one of the coolest stage entrances because of its simplicity. And then there's the suit...

All the Roadrunning - 16bit 44.1kHz Wave
First album on a cold Sunday morning.

Bach's Brandenburg concertos conducted by Benjamin Britten. This was recorded in 1969. However, the sound quality is very good. Also the interpretation by Benjamin Britten of the concertos is very enjoyable.
This 1971 UK Elektra 'butterfly label' issue of the classic 1968 LP.

This after ewemon posted the above...
ALEXIS KORNER (1972 The Accidental Band..
The 'accidental' of the title is effectively how Snape was formed, during a USA tour of collective bands, including Humble Pie & King Crimson. Thus the band is also known as "The Accidental Band".
