Delicate playing by two masters....

Blackfield V on CD.

Just arrived today.

First play I was not sure, so I played it again straight away and now I am sure, I like it!

This is probably my favourite Kate Rusby album. We are off to see John McCusker tomorrow, so this is the nearest I could get.

ACDC, Back In Black, music to work out to.  Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

One of the advantages of having a large collection of music is that you can move from Swans on CD to an original UK Liberty mono LP of Julie London. And do it seamlessly:

Heard these a lot on the radio recently which reminded me how good some of their songs were.  The Cure, Greatest Hits, Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Marvellous outfit, The Cure. I wish I still had the letter from Robert where he declined my invitation to play at the Mermaid Inn, Brynsiencyn. He was very polite, and offered a backstage pass in an upcoming gig in Brighton. But living in Brynsiencyn made that slightly tricky. He lives in Pagham now apparently, very close to me.

Lol, worth a try I guess and nice of him to reply and offer the pass

Not sure what to really make out of all this.  Some way I'm inclined to think it's a stinker version of Gregory Porter. And another more barebacked sans cheackpiece upholstery with real beard version.

real big beard  v.  Muppet beard.  = ?

The Lake Poets, Live From The Minster.

Wonderful Acoustic Guitar, Great songs that are very well sung.

Mike Oldfield, Ommadawn 180g vinyl: sensationally clear, even second hand! Huge range of sounds in multitrack harmonies. The art of music now lost to the current crop of masters of digital bedrooms.

Yuri Gagarin | Yuri Gagarin

Reminded of this the other day by Gary Shaw, the really very good psychedelic space rock of Yuri Gagarin making Hawkwind proud.

It's good that we have Tidal. I have seen a couple of people on this forum comparing it to nr 1 and 2, and I understand why they made the comparison, given the sound signature / style. However I don't like this one so much as the others.....

Perhaps it's also a combination of expectations which are too high and the fact that the music is new......, and can give it a try with Tidal every now and then....

I've read disappointing reviews on other forums. It seems everyone was hoping for something like 1 or 2, but have been disappointed. I think I'll give it a miss since I no longer have Tidal and there are so many other albums from the past which are more widely appreciated still to be investigated and which might be more deserving of my hard earned.

Goldbergs on the harpsichord. I've got a few piano versions, but somehow this just sounds right. Absolutely wonderful.

Tried this one of the new coming album, sounds decent while not yet sure if I will like the total album...

Now trying this one, looks like something I will not buy, too flat as it seems to me...

Has an interesting feel to it, let's see if I still like it after hearing it in total...
