Steely Dan, Greatest Hits, not a group I have ever really got on with so thought I'd give them another chance.  Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

This record is one of my favourites, though it's not played much these days. He's a local boy too.

HH, There is not a single dud track on this album.  Great album.  Another favourite is Night and Day.  Saw him live last year performing his most recent album Fast Forward, which is pretty good.  My favourite live gig of his was during the Jumping Jive tour, an absolute cracker.

This is a unique concept in jazz. Pianist Steve Kuhn recorded two CD's with the same drummer, but a different bassist. On "Waltz Red Side" we have the great Eddie Gomez and on the "Waltz Blue Side" it is Gary Peacock. The two albums share nine identical tracks and vary with one. I ended up buying the blue side without knowing of the red which probably would have been my first choice since I already have so many recordings of Peacock with Keith Jarrett's trio.

Nice grab DrMark. I picked that up at Walmart for the same price a year or so ago. I'll have to check out Big Lots. There is one near me but I've never been in. Had no idea they sold CDs (or for that matter what the hell they sell).

John Lennon. Rock 'n' Roll (1975). On remastered/remixed CD from 2004. John puts a spin on some influential tracks from his teens. A highly energetic album and I've always loved the cover shot which includes (from left to right) the blurred figures of George, Stu, and Paul while John looks so cool as a greaser.

Along with Walls and Bridges this is my favourite post-Beatles album from John Lennon.  An example where (some of) the cover versions are better than the originals IMO.

Another via the new Tidal Masters facility streaming at 24/96, very enjoyable I must say  this one being the 1992 Joe Gastwirt remaster.

Different stores have different selections - it is generally a small rack but I have found a few gems....and also found ones I already have at a price lower than what L paid!

One word of warning: they have a series (e.g., a Turtles CD, but there are others) which is the current "old man" version of the band performing live - this may or may not be something you want.. Just informing so you don't get something other than what you thought you were getting. (IIRC it is called the "Extended Versions" series - I ended up with the Zombies from this, which I then realized what it was that I bought. But for $5 it wasn't a tragedy.)

go here

anything below 10 is not so good, below 7 is bad- Fleetwood Mac  Rumours initial release is around 15 but  for later re-masters  albums the Dr drops ,  the modern prediliction for compression to make them sound better on MP3/I-pods etc?

Excellent! Thanks for that. I'm sure that like another respondent I will be spending quite some time exploring this database.
