As it happens I have the CD and the 96/24 download of Rumours and must admit I am a little disappointed with the SQ. I had always assumed that the master must have been less than perfect, but if the vinyl sounds good then it would appear the transfer to digital was not optimal.
Love the album though.
Yes Siree...G
First time I've played this since having the Linn Silvers replaced by Chord Sarum Super Aray interconnects, which are so much better at retrieving what's hidden in the groove. A gorgeous album now sounding even more so.
Great album by the supremely talented Edie (Mrs Paul Simon) Brickell.

Funnily enough, I too have both the vinyl and a recent remastered version on CD (a double CD set, which includes the additional Stevie Nicks track and studio demos) and have found the CD ripped to NS01 (WAV) and streamed through NDS to sound better than the vinyl. But then my vinyl copy has always sounded a bit crackly. I'll give it a clean and have another go.

I also have the original vinyl, in fact two copies for some reason, plus the standard CD and the hires download. I don't find that there is a problem with the hires version sq, in fact I would say it's got more detail and sounds cleaner than the vinyl but for me, perhaps because the digital version is too clean, I prefer to listen to the vinyl version which still has magic to it.
Original UK vinyl. Playing it in tribute to the late great Clyde Stubblefield:

I have no idea what this album is but it brings back good memories of the Montreal record shop I used to hang out in back in the 70's-80's
Bach piano transcriptions performed by the young Bulgarian pianist Nadejda Vlaeva.

Well, a clean on the Okki Nokki has certainly improved this significantly, although my turntable has also been upgraded substantially since it was last played, which was probably Ittok, Lingo days. It does sound rather good, I have to say. Will try the CD rip later.
More JB and Clyde Stubblefield, on double vinyl LP: Dig the grooves!
Fink Biscuits For Breakfast its rather good....(2006) CD.
Earlier, quiet modern piano music from Bandcamp...
Every few years a band comes along that stops you in your tracks; a band whose music is so overwhelmingly beautiful, so emotionally stirring, so utterly beguiling and unique, that you have to stop and catch your breath. This is one such album.

Clyde wasn't the only funky muso to die this week - Junie Morrison of the Ohio Players also passed away. So I'm gonna play two of their greatest albums by way of a tribute. First off, this banger from '74, on 1980s pre-barcode vinyl...
NOAH AND THE WHALE Last Night On Earth (2011 UK 10-track CD album, co-produced by Fink and Jason Lader.
A vastly underestimated band, and one of my favourites. Vinyl, part of a wonderful box set which included two CDs -
Rhiannon Giddens - Tomorrow Is My Turn.
Solo debut, produced by T-Bone Burnett ....... great album, and what a voice.

I heard Teardrop on 6 music earlier. With a couple of hours to myself in front of the H-Fi it's the first album on my playlist and sounding rather awesome
