Pretty nice way to start a Friday morning in the very cold Pacific NW.

Some would argue (quite reasonably) that this is their best. It is certainly among their finest work, but with so much great material to choose from...

(1973)

Streaming in 24/96 from Tidal Masters, the number of albums being made available there in Hi-Res has been increasing constantly during the day.

Marika Hackman / We Slept At Last

2nd listen. Heard it for the first time last night and thoroughly enjoyed this album by the young and talented British singer.

Gogo Penguin - Man Made Object.

Not played much and not for some time so am becoming reacquainted. I like it.

Robbie Robertson: Robbie Robertson. First solo album from RR and produced by Daniel Lanois. Played this repeatedly on vinyl (copy lost long ago) as a student, so great to hear it again.

I don't think I've played this for 25 years, but it is an excellent recording. Original vinyl. Sounding superb on the LP12.

Inspired by Roadie Simon's post.

Richard Hawley - Truelove's Gutter

Piano Magic - The Troubled Sleep Of Piano Magic

The final gig of Piano Magic @The Lexington in Dec was a fantastic end to a 20 year career. I'm looking forward to the various band spin offs in the future, Glen Johnson especially.

Original 1997 vinyl. For no reason other than it was kinda looking at me

One of Stevee's recommendations.  Bandcamp download.

Soothing stuff.

Richard Hawley, Hollow Meadows on Vinyl

I'll join the Richard Hawley club.  Very enjoyable both as a "proper" listen and as background.  Tidal.

1991 - Vinyl - U.K. First pressing....

Very underrated British saxofonist. Unfortunately, the over indulging use of keyboards can be off-putting at times. Still, a good album and enjoyable.

An outstanding album, recorded in 1958. Both, Wynton Kelly and Kenny Burrell shine.

This record is one of my favourites, though it's not played much these days. He's a local boy too.

HH, There is not a single dud track on this album.  Great album.  Another favourite is Night and Day.  Saw him live last year performing his most recent album Fast Forward, which is pretty good.  My favourite live gig of his was during the Jumping Jive tour, an absolute cracker.

Regards

Nic

Have you tried this?

Well worth checking out.
