2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
A + | 24/96 WAV
(1968)
Back to some good ol' early Doors, this was one of the complete set of The Doors 2014 Édition Studio Masters downloaded from Qobuz in March that year.
Both crazy and compelling at the same time!
And that was preceded by this.
Black Sabbath - Paranoid.
Why? .................... Why not? .....................LOUD!
Slinky soul and hard-hitting funk from the master of the stinging lick. UK first press vinyl:
Nice solo guitar album...
Marillion
F.E.A.R - 24BIT 96kHz Wave

Recorded in 1985 this album contains some of his best work .. IMO .. an excellent quality recording. Great percussion by Luis Jardim ..
Surely it spans '77 to '85. And as far as I know Luis Jardim only appears on one song, from Goodbye Cruel World.
HH .. you're right .. the cd was recorded in 1985 and is a "Best of" .. my comment alluded to it containing some of his best work up until 1985.
Black Star Riders - Heavy Fire.
Shades of Lizzy, with Mr. Gorham in top form.
A classic recording of Tosca, that doesn't apologize for taste in its bombastic greatness
Cheers

Duke Garwood - Garden of Ashes.
From earlier today, this should appeal to all fans of Mark Lanegan or Richard Hawley ............it's on Tidal, so do have a listen.
Damien Rice O, WAV CD Rip.
Chilling to this after a Long Day!
Inspired by John above, this version of the classic 'She' is just wonderful.
Wanted to play something from Tidal, but some problems with Tidal. Both main system and 2nd system are not functioning with Tidal...., luckily I have 10.000 plus albums n my Melco...
Early 1980s Japanese pressing of landmark double:
I can't recall who recommended this to me, but it's probably my favourite Bach vocal album. It's just beautiful.
Porcupine Tree, Recordings. WAV CD Rip.
One of my favourite PT albums.
Mark Lanegan - Blues Funeral.
Last one for tonight.
Since I played Duke Garwood's album, above, how about his sometime collaborator, Mark Lanegan?
This dark, brooding album needs time to be appreciated, but the effort will be well rewarded.
P.S. Now that the Duke Garwood album has finished being Tidalised, I urge to you chaps to have a listen, it's a grower.
