Steve, how are you listening to MQA? Is via your MBP/dragonfly/ 650s or is it directly hardwired to your system? I'm playing around with Masters at the moment using MBP/HiFace/HD700s which is good but not ideal. I need to get a mini/Din plug to connect to my 282 until Naim sort out the Software on the app, I think.

Truth is, I cannot tell the difference between HiFi and Masters. But, then again, headphones listening is not ideal!

Hi Tony, everything has to come via the Tidal desktop app as you know so I'm doing that via my MBP. Then it has been out to either my M-DAC / Arcam system into speakers or cans. I've also been the Dragonfly DAC plugged straight into the MBP and a variety of cans. As yet I haven't used it in the Naim system and possibly won't for now, preferring instead to wait until the Atom eventually arrives to replace the second system, and using it there. Good luck with your travails it will be interesting to know what you think of it when get the mini DIN hooked up.

Thanks, Steve. There's seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation and Tida is no help at all. Even the brainiacs here at the forum don't know what to make of it. Good luck to Naim updating the app.

Another great live album...VAN MORRISON It's Too Late To Stop Now (1974 US 18-track double album.

Bit grumpy and downbeat today so this seemed appropriate. UK first press vinyl:

Bert,
More likely wine glasses than tea cups… High resolution files enable you to distinguish between Merlots and Sauvignons..
I purchased this CD only recently. Although these may be early recordings, the SQ is generally good, despite the last track being recorded off vinyl. Ripped to NS01, streamed through NDS.

Full of the cold today - need something soothing and gently uplifting.

Yes it's a good one - I gave it a few spins via Tidal after reading the Jazzwise review. Must play it again soon.

Doobie Brothers - Takin' It To The Streets
Recently picked up the Original Album Series Box Set - has their first 5 (actually 2nd through 6th) albums for about $20 on Amazon. Ordered the second set for about $13 which contains the rest of their stuff. (The first album that nobody seems to know, and then the last 4, culminating with the 1984 Farewell Tour album...who knew they would get back together and tour for longer than the first time of the band.)
That's an interesting way to separate the box sets. I always considered the Doobies at their best to be the pre Michael McDonald era with a distinct change in the band's sound on his arrival. Their original five albums as a set seems logical to me, but I'm not a marketer.
I agree Joe - I think they came out with the first set and wanted to cover the same period as the original Greatest Hits album and then they decided to make it be the entire catalog with the second batch. I have never heard the first album - it didn't do well commercially but from what I have read it is pretty good, although absent anything anyone would have heard.
These comes in a mini box with nice cardboard sleeves for each disc that duplicate the original album covers - a nice way to get their entire catalog for about $30-35.
If you like 'Spark of life' by Marcin Wasilewski, you probalby like this one as well.
