2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
A magnificent vocal jazz album, I am really looking forward to her next, while I haven't seen an announcement ....
EST - Viaticum. CD rip. Hadn't played this for ages - sounding superb.
Something soothing to close the evening's listening.
REM - Collapse into Now. Just because I haven't listened to it in a long time.
The new album from Julia Hülsman. Excellent playing and sound quality to die for. The first album I've bought after a 'dry February.

Quick listen before bed - A voice that just gets better with age.
Natalie Merchant - Natalie Merchant
Another new acquisition. We saw Seckou Keita play in a cafe in Emsworth a few years ago and had a good chat with him. He's a really nice guy and a great kora player, and with the excellent Omar Sosa it's a fine new album. A world/jazz amalgam, beautifully played.
First listen to this album and really impressed so far, good powerful rock music and a great female vocalist. May well be buying this one. Tidal, sounding brilliant, via Audirvana/Hugo
Wolfgang Muthspiel - Rising Grace. Continues to impress - very enjoyable album. CD rip.
Worthy follow up to her last album Somehow. This girl is one to watch.
The Pretty Reckless, Who are you selling for? Really good album from an excellent group with some really nice guitar work. I really do like these and this is Deffo on my purchase list. Tidal via Audirvana/Hugo
John Abercrombie/Dave Holland/Jack DeJohnette - Gateway. CD rip.
Yes. Big Generator. On original DMM vinyl from 1987. Interesting album for me as a moderate Yes fan. This album comes after 90125 but sounds a lot more like the traditional Yes albums of the 1970s. Maybe 90125 is a departure for the band, but it's my favorite Yes album.
The Kinks' Greatest. Celluliod Heroes. On vinyl from 1976. An quirky collection of stereo, mono, alternate mixes, and live recordings.
Al Stewart. Year Of The Cat. On original vinyl from 1976. Warm, easy listening music from my early teens.
