2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
John Coltrane - Live at the Village Vanguard. The Master Takes (i.e. approved by Trane for release). CD rip.

I know - Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot just ordered from the big A!! On cd 'cos I'm too skint this month for hires or vinyl! Must stop reading this thread! (I've given up wine for Lent but it hasn't helped...)
Brilliant recording...

Bob Cranshaw - bass
Mickey Roker - drumsMusic Matters 2017 reissue of the 1964 Blue Note release.
One of their last three Blue Note 33's.
My hat's off to the team at MM. This has been one fine run of reissues!
Elton John. Caribou. On original vinyl from 1974.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse. Rust Never Sleeps. On original vinyl from 1979. Among the first NY albums I bought and still one of my favorites.

My favourite Pearson set.
Geronimo Black.
Saw him live many moons ago and he really had the place jumpin.
Bob Seger. Stranger In Town. On original vinyl from 1978. Great album from Seger's heyday. Love the SQ from Wally Traugott, one of my favorite vinyl masterers.
The Cars. Heartbeat City. On original vinyl from 1984. Back in the day I remember being a little disappointed with this album on its debut. Tonight, some 33 years later, I've found a new appreciation for it. Sure, it's synthpop/rock, but the SQ and DR is so much better than any similar crap being produced today. Plus there's no auto-tune distortion.
A great quiet start of the day....
Via Tidal
Originally released in 1971 this one was remastered in 2002 and given 6 bonus tracks 5 of which were BBC sessions.
Starting this morning with Brahms.
The Black Crowes. Shake Your Money Maker. On CD from 1990. A relative newcomer to the Crowes' music, I've bought a half a dozen of their CDs in the past year and this one is my favorite.

(1967)
It's half a century young this year, playing the 2009 stereo remaster by Guy Massey and Steve Rooks.
(1967)
Because it seems the right way to finish off the Fab Four's 1967 output.
Saw about this in a review of the power distribution brand I am testing now, the bonus songs are definitely worth reviewing...
