2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Great playing by the WDR big band. And Kevin Mahogany is not bad either.

It's half a century young this year, playing the 2009 stereo remaster by Guy Massey and Steve Rooks.
You mean it was fifty years ago today that Sgt Pepper taught the band to play? Funnily enough, I scarcely play this album. Something I need to rectify!
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
(2009) CD
Seems like a good progression from The Killers.

Nice one Clive and Paul McCartney said this about the album's concept which is perhaps what you were alluding to .

Thanks for posting this one Bert.
It's a interesting listen. I had not heard of Daniel Herskedal before. I am going to listen to some more of his music.

Jeroen.

CORRECTION: Actually i suppose it would have been seventy years ago today, because it was twenty years ago in 1967.
Currently playing this, inspired by listening to 'Jazz Line-Up' on BBC Radio 3 FM just now. Absolutely sublime.

Hi Jeroen,
I got in touch with his music because of the faxt that Marius Nesset a musician I admire plays on his album, Neck in the Woods...., a good one boy the way.
Normally I wouldn't have opeens myself zo easy to a tuba playing guy. Enjoy it the mentioned album I would regard by the way better than. The above one......, but perhaps I should listen a bit more, and it might further grow on me.....
Nadia Reid - Preservation
Haven't listened to this one for a while.

Wow. An album of the year contender for sure. If Broadcast sh@gged Saint Etienne this may be the offspring. Cecelia Fage and Jarrod Gosling (I Monster, Skywatchers, Regal Worm) make modern psych with great tunes. Every one a winner.
