2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread can be found here;
Taylor Swift: 1989. CD rip. On advice from my daughter - she was right, this is rather good! Of course not everyone's taste, but I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying this album.

I'll admit to listening to 'Shake It Off' which i rather like. Best stop there
Richard Hawley - Standing at the Sky's Edge.
Mr Hawley drops a tab ................ and the result is stunning.
Just the thing for a blue sky sunny North Yorks. morning.
Just arrived t morning. Larry Heard AKA Mr Fingers, Chicago house legend. 2014 reissue of a 1996 album..
Tom Waits: Real Gone. CD rip. Taylor was fun, but I felt the antithesis was needed. Growling Tom lifts the soul somehow.
Duke Garwood - Garden of Ashes.
Following on from Richard Hawley, this is in similar vein, co-produced by Mark Lanegan.
I posted this the other evening, it's available on Tidal, so go listen .......... that's an order .............. 's brilliant!!!!!!
I've had 'Sulk' stuck in my head since waking up this morning so the album is getting a play in my lunch break
Radiohead - The Bends
Larry again.. this time less noodle more meat.
A + | WAV ripped CD
(2016)
Playing CD 1 from this show recorded during her residency at Hammersmith Odeon in August 2014.
* Edit to the Kate Bush album above, it was at the Hammersmith Apollo.
Brad Mehldau & Joshua Redman - Nearness. Gets a fairly regular outing here. Tidal.
Still with Larry. This time his 2003 album.
And earlier, prompted by Bert. Taking me back to my yoof (not all that misspent unfortunately ). Tidal again.
Gov't Mule - "High & Mighty" (2006) Mr. Warren Haynes at the helm on a funky trio release. Good stuff.

OK Dave, you twisted my arm. Giving this a run now and I have to say it's rather good ! Great vibe, relaxed bluesy feel, super guitar sound. Excellent recommendation. Cheers N.
Otis Taylor - Fantasizing About Being Black.
I seem to be into moody, atmospheric music so far today, so here's a good 'un.
Greg Brown - "Poet Game" (1994) probably my favorite GB album that I have heard.
The Smiths: Meat is Murder. CD rip. A little joviality for the afternoon! Still a tremendous album.
Maria Tipo playing Muzio Clementi (1752-1832) piano sonatas:
top of the file pile, playing next:
Grant Lee Buffalo - "Mighty Joe Moon" (1994)
Buddy Guy & Junior Wells - Alone & Acoustic.
Easing into some late afternoon mellow blues ............ few better than these two.

I do remember listening to his album "Fuzzy" circa 1993/4 (Jupiter & Teardrop is a great track) but lost interest after that. Somehow the rest of his albums and lyrics did not grip my attention although he still has a great voice.
