John Hiatt & the Goners  -  "Beneath This Gruff Exterior"  (2003)  With Sonny Landreth's amazing guitar work, saw this toured live, wonderful show in a 600 seat venue.

Just kidding. I prefer records with greater layers of depth, soul and variety than La La Land, I'm really playing this:

Duke Garwood - Garden of Ashes.

Following on from Richard Hawley, this is in similar vein, co-produced by Mark Lanegan.

I posted this the other evening, it's available on Tidal, so go listen .......... that's an order .............. 's brilliant!!!!!!

OK Dave, you twisted my arm.  Giving this a run now and I have to say it's rather good !  Great vibe, relaxed bluesy feel, super guitar sound.    Excellent recommendation. Cheers N.

Try the album before this one as you might like that as well.

A + WAV

(2016)

One of my favourite releases last year from a newish UK band that I hope do well with their style of psychedelia and prog rock infused with pop and jazz.

Ah, that takes me back to being middle aged again

Seriously though, the mid-nineties were a definite silver age of music (based on the mid/late-sixties being the golden age!)

Stone class country style

Gary, the 90s had some really  cool music,  but that's our little secret.

A + | WAV

(2003)

A change of musical tack toward some grunge rock, not to everyone's taste but I really got into their albums (as did several million others) for a few years on the back of Silver Side Up (2001).

Eric Bibb - Live a Fip.

Disc 2 from this double album .............. great soulful blues singing, with beautifully played guitar accompaniment, recorded in front of an audience for a French Radio station live broadcast ..................... can't see it on Tidal, but it may be available on other streaming services.

Eric Clapton - Sessions for Robert J.

Eric's second album to celebrate Robert Johnson ................... "one take, no overdubs" recording ................stellar backing band .............. ....... great stuff .............. and the DVD's not half bad too.

Last one for tonight, as I'm off to catch the footy.
