Chicago third album that I am finding surprisingly good, not listened to it for ages. Much better than the second album that I played before, earlier today. That is no where near as good. Best though is still for me the first - Chicago Transit Authority.
Sorry no pics.
Borders Nick posted:Laura Marling - Semper Femina. Released today - first listen. Quite impressed, very nice sounding album. Great double bass sound. Tidal.
agreed, always interested to see what Laura produces...sounds ok on first listening as you rightly say

Tal Farlow was famous, among other things, for the size of his hands. In the picture on the album it looks like he's playing a stretchy F#maj7 at the second position (whilst adding a #11 with his right index finger). Try it - you've got to dampen the b7 on the 4th string at the same time. It's very much worth investigating his work - there's a lot to be discovered.
Genesis - Foxtrot
friday night is Prog night, well at my place it is.
This seems to me to be a transition album, where they started to drift away from their arty roots towards a more popular, chart oriented style. It's also the last Roxy album I purchased.

And there can't be many better examples of fine progressive rock music than that masterpiece!
On CD. My favourite Palmer album albeit very much of its' time (dig those Simmons drums!)
It's Friday night. Must be time for some more Madeleine.

brings back great memories of tricky time signatures (is the needle jumping, does it need weighing down? is it the song...I know)....lovely days of vinyl
