2017 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

This is what you get when Cope and a couple of guys from Spiritualized get together . Hold on tight!
Good shout Tony I might have to blow the dust off this one.

Not the easiest Tull album to get into, but one of my faves. Probably best not try "A Passion Play", next?
Allen Toussaint - The Complete Warner Recordings.
Still in New Orleans, this collection of his early stuff shows just how much of an influence he was on lots of folks who came later.

A super artist he was indeed Dave. I haven't seen the complete Warner Recordings you're playing but will go and have a look.
Depeche Mode - The Best Of Volume 1
Great sound quality and great songs

Hi Stevee,
Apparently, this selection from his three solo albums, plus some live recordings, was originally a limited edition release, which, though deleted, is once more available on CD.
But you don't need to know that, 'cos it's out there on that wunnerful Tidal thingy .......... Ah, ain't it great.

Thanks Dave, excellent!! I shall give your find a good Tidalising.
With all the mentions of Ms Gardot last night this had to be the first play tonight
Melody Gardot - Currency Of Man

I don't have 'A Passion Play', which from your comment might be for the best. Yesterday I tried 'Songs From The Wood' and couldn't get on with that either and I really used to enjoy that one. I guess I've just grown out of Tull. I may, however, try 'Too Old to R&R' at the weekend. Fingers crossed!

Because it just has to be played every now and again.
Quite so, Steve. It is their best album after all.

I strongly suspect it won't be your last listen, James. This is a magnificent album IMV.
Because I haven't listened to this in a while. A bit melancholy but enjoyable and the reproduction quality is first class.
I checked the Radio Times and found what I thought was tonight's Radio 3 In Concert was to broadcast Erin Wall performing the Four Last Songs of Richard Strauss. Switching to input 3 on the preamp I heard, to my disappointment, Janacek. It transpires that I had been looking at next week's Radio Times by mistake. Hence I'm now playing my favourite version: Schwarzkopf / Szell.
I have six different versions. This is the definitive version IMHO.
Leon Russell and the Shelter People.
Prompted by a post last night from Bishopla, this belter from Leon, sadly missed.
ARMs gigs
Tool - Laterus on CD. First listen. Took a punt after hearing so many great things about Tool. Planty going on but short on hooks. Also vocals seem too low in the mix so many lyrics are guesswork. Definately need a few more listens before I can say for sure it is any good. Good job I like a challenge!
Ghost BC - Infestissumam
Swedish (Papa Emeritus & Nameless Ghouls) goth metal, great fun, great tunes, their best.
Zommmbieee Queeeen!
Primal Scream - Screamadelica. Primal Scream - Give Out, But Don't Give Up.
I've been conducting cable wars here for the last couple of weeks, now resolved, so I'm retreating to the music room to give these two an ear bashing ............ LOUD .............Oh Yeah.
Incidentally, did anyone else catch the Beeb 4 documentary about the making of "Screamadelica"?
Well worth the watch, and, I assume, still available on iPlayer.
Nighty night.

Sitting on the DVR ready to watch this weekend
Drive by Truckers - American Band. A great album. CD rip.
1969 - Vinyl - U.K. Pressing...
Not just one of my favourite Joni albums, but one of my favourite albums ever. Shadows and Light. Currently playing the original vinyl version.
